WvW (no loot = no fun)

Wiping people is pretty fun, you should try it.
Like i said before There is no active WvW devlopment and there are no ppl working (who actually know anything about wvw) on it.
WvW don’t bring any money and is loosing more ppl every day then it gains.
So theres no point doing anything for dead game mode.
10 badges per key? You do realize there is quite a few people with 30k+ badges, right? It’s because of the EotM farmers that there will never be something heavily monetizable on the badge vendor.

I have 118k badges and some people have over 200k.

I have fun without loot so no idea what this topic is about. Ok loot is not that good as in pve but go play wvw for the fights and not just the drops.

For a while there, when I was gearing my new 80s, WvW was insanely awesome.
Because every so often, I got loot! …exotics even!
Now it’s a lot of nothing. Spvp gets all kinds of cool loot, and their own armor skins. Pve people run around with legendary weapons, and all the new gear stats are tied to living story.
So rather than some dramatic re-vamp, why not just add new stuff to the badge merchants? There must be some sets all drawn up, that at the last minute, were deemed too ugly for the black lion company to sell.
I was thinking 100 badges for a black lion key… but after opening 30 chests I can’t see why anyone throw money away like that… so maybe a key for 10 badges?
I feel so old. It is no wonder I’m so cynical when I read the barrage of loot whining we have in a game where the fun should be in the action of playing. I feel like a dinosaur about to go extinct…

Tried it, got boring real fast winning almost every match up. Most wvw fights last seconds with both sides steamrolling into each other, or are so evenly balanced no one on either side dies at all.
After the 10,000th time of wiping them, even you will be bored.
GvG in GW1 had much better variety, more build diversity, more planning, more skill, and had a point. You really felt like what you did mattered and affected the outcome, and had a result, which was moving up the guild ladder. Even HA was much better structured, watchable and you felt involved- holding for hours was awesome.
In contrast, in wvw you could literally go afk in the middle of the zerg and no one would even notice.
Reward track like pvp with increasing badges cost.
Reward tack like pvp with increasing rank point cost.
Either or both.
You can apply this statement to GW2 in general. The loot system in this game is horrible and makes playing PvE incredibly boring. Players should get some of their best gear from drops. Players will keep killing if every kill has a reasonable chance to drop a killer item. Borderlands, Diablo, slot machines, Las Vegas, virtually the entire gaming history of mankind has proven this to be true.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”

Stop running with the map blob, get together with an organized group of 15-25 and go wipe zergs. You’re complaining about it being boring, while you’re choosing the most boring way to approach it.
how do people have 100k or 200k+ badges?! Do you guys farm the hell out of eotm? if i had that much badges, I would be throwing build sites at my enemies with a dolyak tonic on.

I think WvW has like 2000 players in NA across all servers who play after the weekend… Out of the supposed millions of players who play, you can’t really blame them for not wanting to waste their time and money on less than .01% of the game population

I never have badges because I buy siege with them… But I can assure you I already used nearly 100k badges on siege.

I like how the new living story map basically looks a lot like how wvw works and yet they get a chest for every little event that gets completed such as the keep defenses etc. So much for not wanting people to bot defense rewards.

WvW is resistant to change because it is a known game, like chess. You don’t change the rules, the pieces or the board mid-game.
just because you just got here and have no idea what is going on, and it seems confusing to you.

Sorry but WvW is not chess!
This is an MMO, and WvW is a game mode in it, which like the rest of the game, requires updates and new content to keep people interested.
Do you know how many people have left this game over the last year?!
In WvW alone it’s huge!
In PvE it’s enough for Anet to crap individual maps for each server and merging them all into a single megaserver!
Last year my guild went to NA from EU. We played in T1 for a few months. Even at EU late night there were zergs from all 3 servers on all borderlands and EB!
I have recently got another account and have it on Blackgate. And oh what a difference a year makes!
Late night EU and there is hardly anyone on! If you are lucky there is one borderland queued with about 5-10. But this is everyone! Everyone wants to run in a big zerg still and all group together. The other 3 maps are almost completely empty bar a few roamers!
The difference in activity in just a year is astounding! What was once a busy tier almost 24 hours a day, is now just a handful.
WvW is probably too hard for most people.
It was still beautiful. I hope it will endure in some form.
We have some astonishing fights.
I don’t know enough about gaming to know if a game mode being hard is a turn off. Seems interesting to me.
I don’t think anyone here has said WvW is hard apart from you.
You must be one of the uplevels we use as meat shields.

I use 0 copper buying with badges, while a flame ram cost roughly 2 silver on trading post… I don’t see where it’s cheaper.
Besides, if I don’t buy siege, I will do what with badges? Hoard them and complain I have nothing to buy like everyone else do?
