I actually have the feeling (especially since the new league system) that sometimes when it says there is a queue for a certain map, the enemy can get more players inside the map as we can do, although the player limits / server should be the same (I mean when we have a blob the enemy sometimes can have two and that has nothing to do with the fact that our people are running solo somewhere, it’s not the case). So my question is rather are there numbers on how many people can join a map, is this number fixed or is it vague? I know that there were some numbers, but are they officially confirmed? A statement would be nice.

If they try to keep it as a secret, then Im surprised no one actually orginized a head count in a year.

I have exactly the same feeling – i would bet my last $5 that this is an existing issue caused by the dodgy queue system!!

It wouldn’t be the first time A-net has been wrong about something in-game (Necro downed state health bug)

Why when we have a large queue to get into EB, do we see that the enemy clearly has 2-3 times the numbers as us (most notably when we faced SoR) – the population difference was obvious, yet we had a map queue.

Something is very fishy – I’ve heard many people comment about the issue in game.

Yeah, I totally agree. I mean although some Servers have queues on all maps they are still beaten (not a bit, totally beaten I mean) by other Servers with even numbers (I bet in Silver or gold league there are always queues especially on Reset). So it is really the question whether this are EVEN numbers or not. And Iam not refering to coverage issues, cause if you have queues over all maps the coverage should be the same. I mean something like this could have an impact on overall ratings and league ranks. Means if there are really differences in how many people can join a map / server, everything is decided from the start on.

I can also confirm that the queue system is completely broken, in our matchup against FA and YB (i’m on CD) we were getting attacked on our BL, FA and YB had their usual mega blobs, we put out messages on all maps to get to our BL for defense, we literally only had about 15ish on the map (give or take a couple afk’ers) and tons in queue stuck on other maps. So every fight was like 3:1 and we lost pretty much everything…couldn’t do a thing about it.

1) Pets and siege does not count towards the limit, siege has its own limits.
2) BL cap is lower than EB, must be something higher than 60 and lower than 90 for borderlands.
3) Population cap is the same for every server, so no if you have a queue you should have equal numbers.
4) There used to be a bug a few months ago that if you just logged out of WvW you were still counted towards the cap sometimes. Not sure if it is fixed yet, but haven’t heard complaining about it since, so I guess it is fixed.

Last Saturday, Nov. 2nd 2013, at late evening hours, we were outmanned on EB and in our BL. I mean, officially outmanned with the outmanned buff, for several hours during the entire second half of NA prime time.

There were maybe 20 of us in our BL total, and 25 in EB when I took a count. Yest both maps were queud with 15-45 minute queues. Add to that were are going against a larger server where our only chance at winning was to build up a lead during prime time and keep the daily momentum going.

Needless to say that did not happen due to exactly and precisely of this que. Dear A-net, can one of your employees please explain to us how can we be outmanned (officially with a buff) and have a 15-45 minute que on a map at same time ?

even if there is, ANET should just do a ninja nerf on the map cap…. leave them out of the patch note…

50 players per server per map should be the max…..

Anecdotal evidence suggests otherwise, and that is what’s most troubling.

Sometimes it is VERY difficult to believe that the sides are numerically equal. You have to just sit and wonder, is it really possible that there are SO many of the enemy zerging like this, and we have just as many people but they’re all off faffing about? Doing what? PvE? How come I never see them?

You dont see them cause some are in JP or AFKing at Spawn other are roamers and other do map completion.

Not even remotely equal numbers. We were queued up on GoM for reset. Looked at seas of red, from both enemy servers. Outnumbered buff. Our largest group wasn’t even half of one of theirs. And both servers were throwing crazy numbers. Hell, both were fielding 2-1 zergs at us, and worse. Yet we had queue, for multiple maps. They are NOT balancing entry.

At reset the queues bugs. If you enter by the portal in LA, it stands that the map is full after just 5-10sec try to queue up after 15sec again, and you normally get in. Some sort of wierd bug from Anet’s side….

I feel that the population is not capped per server but per map allround.
So if the map had 300 spots it seems that server A can field 199 players, server B 50 and server C 50. As long as map is not full, server populations are not checked.
When the queue comes into play i think it slowly adress the imbalance by letting players form server B and C more often in than players from server A. But it can take hours to balance the population since nothing forces the extra players from server A out of WWW.

I think this was done to allow a maximum of players in the field (no queue as long as the map is not full, even if 1 server has more than 33% of the population) and a posteriori that seems to have been a dreadfull bad idea.

Edit: the fact that you can get queue to a map and at the same time have outmanned buff when you get in tends to prove the imbalance in players numbers

I would bet my last $5 that this is exactly what is happening… too many people have noticed/commented for it to be just an error in judgement.

It’s disappointing that we don’t get any official response on this.

If people are getting queued up for a map while that map has the outnumbered buff active for that server, there is obviously a problem and the system is simply broken.
