WvW queue on high demand servers - my two cents
I know this isn’t what you’re suggesting but, I would suggest a different way.
To lower Queue times instead by:
1) Allowing free transfers ONLY to lower populated servers
2) Stopping free transfers to ANY of the top populated servers (say top 60%)
3) Allow guilds to keep their upgrades when guild leader transfers guild
4) Switch the Orb buffs with the Out maned buffs.
I think that would even the population out a lot! I know people HAVE to be tired of the long queues on those top pop servers and will gladly move to lower ones if the incentive is given properly.

Yeah that is another problem and sure is also a reason, but if transfer cost money I think it will calm down – just a matter of time and if not anet will make a lot of money and that’s ok for me. ;-) I for myself and also others would never switch the server just for WvW and the problem even with very expensive transfer will still exist on some servers.
My suggestions are more related to give guild a opportunity and casuals players a timeframe to plan with.
I think the problem will sort itself out over some time. If it doesn’t, an extra map for all three servers to fight over would be a good idea.

Another suggestion.
1) Move to Kaineng. Get into WvW instantly.
See you out there soldier. I’ll be the 3rd body on the left (there are only 3 of us).

The problem with cutting off free transfers is what if say someones in the situation I was in the other day. I have been on henge since day 1 heck minute 1 of headstart release, I came with Titan because I have long time friends who are in Titan and I wanted to make sure I would be on whatever server they were so I could play WvW with them. And I have a Real Life friend who finally got the game the other day, he couldn’t even pick my server because it was full. He had to keep trying to transfer here for a couple of days before a spot finally opened up and he got in. So whats your solution to cutting friends off from playing with each other?

Ask your friends to move to a low pop server. Make new friends.
Unfortunately, that’s a problem that comes with being on a high-pop, popular server. Is it fair to keep allowing more and more people to jump off their servers to join the “winning” server, thus kittening WvW anymore? Just to allow your 1 friend to come play with you? I’m not saying you shouldn’t be allowed to play with your friends. But continuing to allow transfers to the high-ranked wvw servers has caused some massive imbalances that the players don’t want to fix themselves. They want to stay on the winning server, and complain that everybody is picking on them.

Yeah, I understand, what I’m saying is that if you get the Queue to be non existent then you don’t NEED to implement the ticket system.

Take your friends to a less populated server. That is what I’m trying to say. Make it easier for friends to go to the servers that need people. Make the incentives (no queue time, retain guild perks, etc.) viable so people such as yourself can make a new home on a great server that actually NEEDS you. Because, lets be honest Henge doesn’t need anyone else. And anyone going there is doing a huge disservice to this game in my humble opinion.

That’s fine and all if your friends aren’t members of a major WvW alliance. They leave if Titan leaves, you think whatever server Titan is on would stay low pop for very long?
