WvW rank affecting earning pips

What’s the chance, if they do implement a rank incentive, that it’d be much more of a disadvantage for lowbies than say… The magic find buff.

Makes no sense for me. Lets say a high and low ranked player duo roam doing the exact same things. Why should one of them earn more/less pip than the other?
Would like to see a performance based(capped objectives, defended objectives, kills, deaths, etc.), calculated number for each player instead of this. Based on this number players could earn more or less pips per tick.

WvW rank affecting earning pips makes perfect sense to me.
There are quite a few WvW players who have well over 1,000 rank points. Some 3k, 5k, even 10k. What do they have to show for it? Nothing.
All you need right now, is 1k to max out all your wvw ability points. Some might say that’s a lot, but 1k points, to a hardcore WvW’er, isn’t. There are many players with thousands of extra points that have no use.
So I disagree with there being no point in earning more pips through a higher WvW rank, sorry.
I know quite a few very loyal WvW players, that have played for many years pretty much daily, who’s WvW rank is between 1k and 1.5k. Those people have contributed a lot to the success of their server, by buying and placing siege, scouting, dolly escorts, refreshing siege and calling out enemies in team chat. All of those activities have not help them gain a lot of WvW ranks.
Reading remarks on the forum and this thread, that 1k rank is nothing, it worries me how much Anet Devs could be influenced by those opinions and consider k-train gains in EotM or higher tier server zergs in EB to be “normal” for the players.

5k+ is basically like k-train/zerging/put in constant time numbers. Most dedicated havoc/scouts/defenders from early days are probably sitting between 2-4k. I’m sitting close to 1900 on one account and another couple hundred added from the others, and have taken long breaks from the game multiple times, 6 month break in 2013, 6 month break after hot, currently on another 6-8 month break only playing on reset basically.
I don’t see a problem with awarding extra pips for higher ranks, even though I know there are people who k-trains/eotm their way to higher ranks. I’m just hoping it’s just a minor boost, with commanders as well. People get awarded extra stuff for higher achievement points too, and that’s basically mostly pve which gets most of the new achievements these days.

As long as Anet finally nerfs the wxp gain from Eotm further so that people without any PvP experience stop gaining WvW Ranks that they shouldnt have…
I have seen too many Gold Ranks without any clue of actual PvP lately….
a nice solution to make the WXP gain fair would be to increase the WXP gain if you capture objectives with less players
(make different tiers maybe: 2 or less players, 5 or less, 10 or less, 11 or more)
