WvW rank pips
I’d say 120 & below isn’t quite right.
I’d put them on achieving the “legend” ranks if I were to change it.
But people in theory need incentive past 9945 ( arguably if you wvw that much, monetary incentive isn’t really a factor but w/e).

I had already suggested it, no one seems to care though.

It’s to give people of extremely high rank something to aim for. The distance from the start of diamond to max is 3500 ranks which is more than the ranks I have earned in total! So there is a huge difference. The only reason why it doesn’t get a separate rank is probably because they don’t want to count so high/ran out of names.
Also I would argue that so little players are going to reach diamond in the first place at all, that the difference of 1 pip is really nothing to talk about for most users. Honestly, a 14% pip rate is like compensation for all that time doing…. well anything. If they got 20 pips, it wouldn’t really matter to me at all.
Personally, I’d like to see Silver and above get 1 more pip. Silver seems like a pretty reasonable goal, and more incentive should be put into getting it.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Honestly, I think low ranked people need more than they are getting. If you’re sub 150 and you are getting 3 per tick that’s messed up. Give everyone minimum of like 8 and just add 5 to every other tier. I don’t mind if 10k ranked players are getting 30 per minute. Idgaf what I can’t STAND is how little you get at low rank. 30ish hrs a week to cap without outnumbered is insane.

Not everyone is supposed to max out Diamond every week, only dedicated ones should. Once you get your head wrapped around the fact that it’s not supposed to be easy, it’ll fit the picture much better
I think that pip acquisition is currently fine, besides Outnumbered which is a huge problem imo
I think it should be removed entirely and maybe pump all other rank tiers by 1 or something

Agree to disagree. I don’t believe that 30 hours a week is considered not easy. To me that’s considered absolutely insane. Anyone in my opinion should be able to max diamond in 15 hours max. And yes, this means I feel anyone shoukd be able to max tickets with a few hours a night. You won’t agree with me and I won’t agree with you but I hope anet sees my opinion and that’s all I can hope for.
I think a good fix to this solution would be to just have more shared participation spots. I think the 30+ hour commitment is reasonable in comparison to PvE stuff. Raids take time to learn, Fractals require grinding out levels/agony/ascended armor. WvW has rank. The reason why I say increase the shared slots is it would allow players to sell PiPs for that kind of instant gratification. I mean people can sell raid bosses, you can gems → gold for all the stuff fractals need. To keep it in line I think an increase in shared slots would be nice so that more dedicated WvW guilds can get some increased funding (WvW is not a cheap thing). This would put it in line with other game mode options and remove the need for PvE based people to actively engage in the game mode for rewards.
Anet recently doubled the amount of tickets everyone can achieve in a week along with adding more pips for placement, why the OP feels the need to now squeeze one more pip out of them because he has not reached Diamond legend is pushing his luck imo.
As one of the supposed 23, I feel that being rewarded with an extra pip over players who can be 3k+ ranks lower than me is fair. Considering this is basically the only real benefit I get at rank 10k, I would happily give up my 1 pip advantage for something more meaningful, like a rank finisher or a title tho.

I would love for you to get a title and special mount skin + a bunch of other cool stuff. I would also like you to get more pips. But I as a 174 ranked player, I would like to earn at least 10 pips per tick without having to hunt outnumbered and never run with a group. I am not for high ranked players getting less, I think EVERYONE should get more so I don’t have to choose between my wife, life, job, sleep, and GW2 rewards. (not saying I want it easy, but surly 15 hours a week vs 30 is fair as that is a lot of effort)
At this point, it’s about how long it takes to earn the reward.
For legendary armor paths:
Raids = max weekly insights takes 4 to 6 hours a week.
PvP = I don’t do this, someone else will have to answer this.
WvW = at 5 pips, max skirmish tickets takes 24 hours a week.
5 pips is pretty standard; last place is 3, 1 for previous week credit, 1 if you’re at least bronze.
The disparity is pretty obvious.

I still want a title and have wanted one for a long while now. It doesn’t even have to be worth Achievement Points so as not to frustrate AP hunters. Just a “Diamond Of The Mists” title or something stupid. I’d rock that all day.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
Yeah it’s not like we get 16 titles in wvw/eotm for the achievements or our names are displayed according to rank to the enemy or anything. But yeah we should totally have titles for ranks grinded out in eotm too since people did Ultimate Dominator in OS.

You compare experienced raiders with wvw beginners.
You should compare raid beginners with wvw beginners or experienced raiders with experienced (long time) wvw players.
When an average guild starts doing raids, they’ll need weeks and lots of hours of training to get 13 LIs.
Now imagine the guild has trouble to get the same 10 people online at the same time. When you just start raiding it’s quite difficult to progress when you have 2-3 different people each week and maybe have to change roles as well.
For wvw you don’t have to rely on 9 others and it doesn’t matter at what time of the day you log in.
IMO you can’t compare 13 LI with 5 pips.
You should compare something like 13 LI with 10 pips or 5 LI with 5 pips.
I know this will not be a popular opinion at all, but here goes! I think people are getting to many as it is! I think it should be reverted to the previous way!
Far to many people coming into WvW just to farm pips. WvW is a competitive part of the game, and has lost it’s way with all these rewards! Do not get me wrong, I like rewards. But I play WvW for fights in the first place. Now we have all kinds of people out here who have no clue what they are doing. All they do is karma train and farm pips.
I would like to see it be way more difficult to get ascended armor and back piece. You should be a true WvW vet to get them. All the people on here saying we need more need to go back to PvE and farm there. You are wrecking WvW even more now! I am all for new people coming to try and play WvW, but this is getting out of hand!

I think your comparison could go further. Not when a guild begins raiding, but rather when a PUG begins raiding with nine other PUGs.
my wvw level atm is 126 iirc and I have completed diamond on… tuesday?
the recent change to amounts per score have made it possible though as with old ones I’d have no hope to achieve diamond like ever.

About how many hours did that take?
So it’s just +1 pip for everyone.
But they just gave everyone +2 pips in the last patch. :?

I’m not comparing 13 insights with 5 pips, I comparing game modes and the time it takes to max out the weekly currency for each. For wvw, it’s 365 skirmish tickets. Pips are just an incremental reference for earning them.
I know how long it takes to clear all of the raids and how painful it can be to pug it or learn it from scratch.
I also know how long it takes to finish earning the max weekly currency from wvw. Some of us have spent infinitely more time learning to excel at wvw than most people have even spent in the raid instances.
I get that a lot of people consider the raids “advanced” content. It may require coordination/sufficient dps, but it is static content, which is why my friends and I find the raids so easy to do. 4 to 6 hours a week. Bosses can be killed in 5 minutes.
It still takes 2x to 4x as much time to finish diamond every week.
I don’t PvP, so I don’t know how long it takes them to max their currency every week.
Edit: also, the number of pips earned do not impact how fast you earn wvw ranks. That hasn’t changed. The only thing pips are a reference for is how fast you will earn the skirmish tickets.

interesting question since I did notreally pay that much attention….
so we had reset guild raid that took into late nights hours, another guild raid on saturday which also got into late hours, on sunday the raid ended early due to commander having to end earlier and probably this was a part that accelerated whole thing madly due to an hour or two of messing around map where we were outnumbered. on monday and following tuesday I have been rather shortly in the game tho – just meeting up my daily goals…
on average I was getting like 6 pips during that period I suppose? [5 for server place and 1 for wood from earlier week] with ocasional 11 due to outnumbered bonus.
this week may be more tought to wrap diamond up [for me at least] because I am intending to spend the better time of the weekend trying out new elite specs and I am fairly sure that pips gained on demo toons will not count towards progression of account…..

I understand your point. Even I was upset this morning when I saw our T3 keep almost be flipped by 3 people only because the 10-12 other players in map couldn’t bother to come and help, instead of just flipping camps for participation upkeep.
The issue is : just read the forum. You see complaints everywhere that the game mode in uninteresting, unrewarding, boring, cheesy, dying etc. Even if it’s only 10% true, at this point, any solution that can make people play is worth considering. I don’t know whether the new players here will only stick to rewards, or if some of them will get interest in it, but I’m sure those last ones are needed. I’m also sure that showing newcomers the door in order to keep a so-called purity of the game mode will eventually lead to the game mode death for real.
I think the PiP’s are fine. I’ve been keeping a running count of my own gains at the end of each week (mind you, out-of-game variables may change per week)
