Hi,

is there any chance for wvw ranks to be changed to accountbound instead of being character based?

I’ve searched but didn’t come up with anything official about it.

While I liked the WvW updates so far (apart from the overpowered ACs), the ranks are the reason for me to do something other than WvW when I play the 7 out of my 8 charas and only level up 1 in WvW (which overall makes me play less WvW than I did before the ranks were introduced).

any news on this?

I do believe there was a Dev comment on this earlier when it was introduced. As it has been out so long I doubt they would make a change like this.

no way, I have gone out and got exactly 2 ranks on 6 alts so that can get 12 extra chests for 12k wxp…….. if they change it now I will have lost 2 hrs number crunching….

( not a fan of char based ranks but it is what it is )

@elkirin, I bet they have already accounted for this and only award chests to people above a certian level.

I would love it if they were account bound, after all it’s the same person controlling the characters.

Some ppl share there account like a parent and there kid so not always the same person.

well, i dont think it would be hard to change it (they would just need to add up the wvw-exp from all your characters and there you go with a way higher rank)

1. if you gotten 2 ranks per chara (so from 1 to 3 on 6 charas), it just means you will get 2 chests for getting to rank 4 and rank 5 (same amount as if you had left em on rank 1 and leveled em after the update).

2. that also could encourage people to create a charas and roam with a zerg for rank 1 to 5 (thats when you need less world exp to rank up) and then delete and do it over again if the chests are nice (people are already doing that to get a bl-key at lvl 10 in the story line).

3. id prefer shared benefits from wvw ranks over a few more chests (since only 4 chests per chara are easier achieved than the following ones – 5k exp for rank 1 to rank 5 and after that 5k per level = 3 additional chests per chara – after that it wouldnt even matter which chara you played)

They will never know so I’m not worried. I know ppl that do this but my girl has no interest. And I think they mean sharing outside of the house hold.

Basically, you will be banned if they catch you BUT there is no way for them to know, so carry on.

But the point I want to make is that they do not design content with people sharing accounts in mind, since that is agaisnt the rules.

There should be no reason not to have Wxp account wide.

Bolded for emphasis. I think parent-child qualifies.

On topic though. I don’t think it has account sharing in mind. It’s just a bad way to make us grind more or abandon alts all together.
