Yeah WvW has some big design flaws. The rewards aren’t nearly as good as they should be. The only thing to be rewarded for is offensive taking of places. But if you’re losing the entire server quits. I’ve had my server quit almost entirely on some of the maps within the first 2 days. This is a problem that needs to be corrected. Players need more incentives for actually trying to come back, and for doing something other than running with the zerg.
Many players I talk to don’t even bother joining the losing team. They say the repair cost aren’t worth it, and I agree. Shooting down 30+ s in one hour because im trying to do something other than zerg is bad.
One thing is night capping, this is another reasons players quit. If one server is night capping (like mine. EB got pushed to the spawn overnight by blackgate…) people actulaly transfer servers to the winning server. Ontop of that, the buffs they get from winning just snowball it into this steamroller. They get more players thanks to free world transfers, more players on the losing server quits, and they become more powerful thanks to buffs. Within 2 days entire servers quit, this is bad.
On the orignal post, i agree with all of it. WvW is just so repetitive after a while since offensive zerging is the only rewarding system.
