like the title says,
implement a signup system for leagues.
This would solve 2 issues with 1 stone.

1- prevents transferring with the intention to sabotage other servers.
2- pve players can still transfer at will.

Once you signup for league season 2 your account is locked to that server for the duration of leagues season 2, you will not be able to transfer any characters to any other server period.

Leagues is dead, thanks to Garfield Server bribing its way to the top. I hope leagues never come back.

Did the meta achieves, been roflstomped for 3 weeks in blowout matches, huge waste of time. Leagues is just another terrible idea.

A better idea is just to lock the servers into their tiers without warning or a head’s up, and on that date state “All transfers from this date shall lock you out of WvW for the rest of the season, and all servers are locked into their respective tiers for this league season. This is in order to prevent any server from stacking over another one within the season.”

There, no purposefully failing to get into a certain tier, no hopping or anything. Does this bring up problems? Kinda, but this is why we can’t have nice things, because people do things like server hopping in the middle of a league or purposefully losing matches to get into a lower tier.

I read somewhere that “server loyalty” is a rumor… Now, to this, with the amount of people who simply jump ship for the sake of joining the “winning circle”, we can agree.

So, meh, remove it from the equation. Make WvW a massif, open 24/7 war arena, where you will be randomly dropped into one of the 3 teams. No more servers, bribing, no more ques (as soon a an arena fills up, the next one will be populated), no more pettiness about who is best and who will get the better awards… just one big global cluster kitten.

What worries me is that I am at the stage where I am starting to convince myself its a good idea…

I’m going to have to sign on to the no league again, at least in it’s current form. While it looks like a good idea on paper at first glance the population disparities in servers has made it all but a disaster. Not that server population differences are the end of the world, but let’s be honest, 75% of players could look at the WvW schedule when it got posted and give the results of a vast majority of matches on day 1. The top of silver and bronze don’t face much of a challenge against most of the servers in it’s league, while the bottom servers face servers they have no business competing against. I’d argue that before leagues servers had a better chance at more even match ups, and that leagues have made the issue of population disparity more of a problem, not a good thing.
