Hi, new WvW player here.

I wanted to ask about WvW settings to run in WvW. I don’t have a high performance system so can’t run everything at max settings.

I want to run settings that allow me to see enemies at distance in zerg fights while reducing animations and any ‘flashy’ effects that might impact on performance during these fights.

If you have an average system what settings to you reduce?

Post-processing and shaders are true performance hogs, so disabling those will already give you some FPS gain..

Hint: Just set it all to Best Performance in your options, then tweak the options you want until you found the perfect balance between Performance and Appearance..

I ran with everything set to highest performance for a long time. I was on a laptop that was not designed for gaming. I saw nothing but basic character models for everything, but I had little to no problems. It was rather functional. That changed 2 weeks ago when I dropped some money into a new, high end gaming rig. Now I see everyone especially gear and can fully admire the beauty of the game on the best setting for everything. With the Change though, I can say that as far as game play goes, if your willing to drop your settings it works well on older systems or systems more limited capability.

I do know there is a setting that limits particle effects that once I found that and lowered all the effect, it made a world of difference.
