WvW solo roaming tips
Warrior? When you’re low on health just run away.
Bring condi reduction food , healing signet and a greatsword and see previous comment lol.
Map awareness. Set-up your camera setting so you can one click to look behind you. Try to predict where the other havoc squads/roamers are going to be. Use food and make sure your build has some options to escape a fights/remove conditions Test your builds in spvp.

Always expect something will be right behind you or just around the corner, even if your running solo they will, more often than not chase after you..
If you get fed up, hop into the OS – it’s fun in there with little interruption.

Have a sword/shield and a greatsword. Definitely have dogged march on, as well as -40% condition duration food. If you see a zerg, presume they’re going to chase after you and run away. Go for stances as well, you can easily get out of a tricky situation by having endure pain and beserker stance on at the same time.

Mobility, control and awareness are your three most important tools. Although you can manage without mobility, only a seasoned roamer should be able solo travel without being able to disengage.
Watch the map constantly, bind a key so that you can look behind yourself, try to avoid taking obvious paths when going to camps, sentry’s, towers, etc.
Do NOT chase someone when you are in THEIR territory, it’s best only to engage if you absolutely need to. If you have some form of control, which is very important to have when roaming, you should immobilize, stun, cripple, daze, chill, launch, fear, etc. your opponent(s) when they try to escape. Despite what some might think, roaming is not all about 1v1’s, it is an aspect of roaming but not the purpose of it, so when you see other solos, it’s best not to go balls deep immediately upon seeing a red name. Learn your limitations and you’ll die a lot less.
Your objectives are: Kill dolyaks, flip supply/ merc camps, tap keeps/towers, assassinate zerglings, scout enemy positions and relay their actions to your commander and if you’re ballsy enough, stand near enemy zergs to make them lose numbers chasing you down.
Solo roaming, especially in T1 where I am, is a perilous hobby. You will die many times regardless of your skill, sometimes you get blindsided, sometimes you get greedy, sometimes you simply stop paying attention for a few seconds, dying will happen so don’t be discouraged when it does. Solo roaming is a respectable job that can be very helpful for your server if done properly, don’t let gank squads and zerg stomps upset you and you’ll do just fine!
Good luck and remember to use every buff at your disposal, food stacks, guard stacks, everyone does it so should you!

I’d say:
Proper build for playstyle
Decent balance between damage and survivability (warrior is great in both)
Mobility
and probably most important – keep pushing challange, even at the beginning. Don’t be afraid of outnumbered fights – these might teach you something and certainly won’t teach anything enemies. Day by day you will do better.
I roam A LOT and can say with certainty that the greatsword is by far the best roaming tool in the warrior toolbox. Get it and love it. Second to that is Endure Pain and either Balanced Stance or Dolyak Signet (maybe both). That combination of skills makes a warrior VERY hard to kill. It is also an easy jump to a might generating build which is what I run.

For warrior?
Get greatsword, press buttons, stomp/gs 5 away, rinse repeat.
….. And Elementalist.
If you want to be decent and scary opponent, forget about Greatsword (unless you run Skullcracker) and Sword (unless you’re condition).
“Mobile” Warrior may take down a LB Ranger, but any decent roamer will roflstomp you.

What do you want to accomplish solo roaming?
Are you looking to take out Supply Caravans, Sentries, and Camps on your own? Are you looking to skirmish with other players? Are you looking to do a little bit of both?
If you’re just looking to “PvE” against NPCs, I’d suggest the standard PvE meta 6/5/0/0/3 (Strength: Dual Wielding, Slashing Power, and Berserker’s Power; Arms: Rending Strikes and Forceful Greatsword; Discipline: Signet Mastery.). Run full Berserker’s with Strength runes. Greatsword and Sword/Warhorn for mobility, Greatsword and Axe/Mace to kill NPCs. Run Bersker’s Stance (condition immunity is fantastic), and Bull’s Charge (extra mobility is fantstic). Most camps have spots where you can stand to LOS the NPCs after aggroing them, and then mow them down with your cleave (and Whirlwind Attack into the corner/wall/whatever). This build is, however, terrible versus actual players, except for the worst players in the game (it’s beautiful when someone stands in 100 blades for the whole duration…). I’ll typically only run this build when I’m not “seriously” WvWing, and just looking to get camp capturer/caravan disruptor/land claimer daily out of the way quickly. For food? Maintenance oils and Power/Precision food. If you find an enemy player, quickly ask yourself how likely it is they’re any good at the game. If they’re killing random PvE mobs for no reason when you encounter them, it’s a good bet you can engage them and win. Otherwise, you should probably just run away.
If you’re more looking for skirmishing with other players, take an sPvP build and modify it intelligently for WvW use. If you’re looking to do a bit of both, just use this same build and approach camps a bit more cautiously. You should probably use Hoelbrak/Melandru runes, with lemongrass poultry soup as your food.
It’s cold out there, don’t forget to take your armor. Some say the violet armor is warmer.
So I have leveled my warrior to level 80 and I want to do more solo roaming. I was wondering if there were any tips for someone who has no experience on solo roaming in WvW.
Thanks all!
For solo roaming remember the rules on duels
/bow to initiate a duel and wait for a bow
Also know where most of the solo fights happen
Ask your mates where the local fight club is
Never laugh or mock your opponents
Choosing a warrior is a good class to start of with as the skill level required to be good is not that high.
Remember to buy food, oils, stones, get rank to 260 so that you can get the 2 most important rank bound traits in the game.
And most importantly , practice on everyone and do not listen to anyone who says the words “cant/shouldnt/no”. You sir are a warrior, the games most powerful class. Go forth and destroy your enemies. GL
Once you have your class under your fingers a really important thing is where you fight. When you engage you should be trying to lead people somewhere they don’t want to go. The center area on BL maps is where I pull most fights, otherwise I pull to the outside edges of the map. These places get much less traffic and offer good LoS.
Also learn where the different npcs spawn, kiting a group through a place like the ice wurms near NE camp can really help shed extra players.
