With summer fast approaching I’m curios to know, are we not having any WvW seasons this year? I’ve seen lots of stuff for TPvP tournaments but nothing for WvW.

No balance no competitive match structure, no sense in a season. I am happy that ANet seem to have understood that.

You can hardly call the last one a season either, log in do 5 events and log off, that’s a PVE tournament, not a WvW one.

The first one was a tournament where you actually had to play WvW to get it, the last one was a disgrace.

And the 2nd in the middle was a transfer to win event at least in EU.

I know the season have brought out the worst in some of the WvW community but it also helped some community’s become more bonded and created some awesome Rivalry’s.
Also part of why I want another season is for the Claim tickets. Maybe Anet can make another reward system for getting them. I have 150 tickets sitting in my bank I can’t use.

You listed several reasons that are irrelevant to a season. History has proven that it brings players back to WvW. In my experience it also brings players back to the game.

Most importantly, they are just plain fun.

I wish they could at least let us buy the tournament ticket skins with honor badges if they wont make any new WvW seasons. I wouldnt mind paying 5k badges per skin.

It brings pve players in not new players and in every season wvw was left with a smaller population when they ended.

I was silly enough to buy asc mats with my tickets; really regret that. I agree that it’s be nice to be able to use badges of honor as an alternate currency to purchase these skins. Don’t care what the price is.. Just tired of waiting around for the next tournament event.

It’s not really so much a tournament as a PVE farming event, which results in server stacking and brings out the hackers because the best coverage yields the best rewards. At least longtime committed WvW players are interested in fights, the PVE clowns just want their next shiny which means they have little fun to lose by hacking.

Most importantly, they are just plain fun.

So far I understood the season as a tournament, but you don’t need a tournament if the winner are clear from start.

Ask directly for the price and the achievements if you only want them, no need to make several more imbalanced than usual weeks to get them.

Maybe the new wvw map can be introduced with a season. 5 rounds a 4h matches just with the new map every Sunday afternoon with all servers in one Swiss tournament for all that bought HoT.
