Genererally It’s nice that maintenance is over 1 hour earlier than anounced, however for a WvW team that relies on your statements this is quite disastrous.
It’s always been this way and known for quite some time. The score keeps ticking, and Yaks keep running supply. Longer maintenance like this one can have a serious impact on the outcome of a match, especially when a server understands the mechanic and tries to capitalize on it.
Happened on the Tier 4 match up. Borlis went balls to the wall about an hour before the server maintenance went down. Got up to about 300 PPT right before they closed things down.
Gotta keep in mind though, these sorts of things are double edged. The “exploit” if you want to call it that is available to all three servers equally. So I think it would be a mistake to say that it throws the match. At worst, it probably just amplifies existing power structures.
Well maybe on NA when its primetime, but here in EU this started at like 8 in the morning where coverage issues are the biggest of all day and there is huge differences in ticks which are more or less equal during primetime.
