I’m on 98% exploration for the world and on 98% for this WvW map, and this is the last vista I need, but the enemy controls it and I can’t get through their gate to get to the vista.
Do we need to control it to get the vista, or not?

You need to break through the outer gate.

Yes, you do need control of the keep. You have to go across the ice bridge and climb up these cliff steps to get to it. But the ice bridge is inside the keep. So, you should just wait until your server captures it.

You actually do not need “control” of the keep. Your server just has to break through the outer walls or gates so you can access the ice bridge.

Your exploration progress carries over from week to week. Just get the vista when it’s in your “home” area whether that’s your borderlands or your area of EB. Within a few days I had almost all of EB explored except the green area and since Maguuma is green this week, I finished it up pretty easily.

So people like you could discover WvW, whether you like it or not.
Some even like it.

Also (as far as I know) World Completion is only required for legendary weapons. Those also require 500 badges of honor, so if you’re going for one, you’ll be in WvW enough to get all the points anyway.

I’d prefer if the removed it from world completion just so there wouldn’t be people doing useless stuff like running to a vista as soon as the outer wall falls in a siege…..
