I sincerely doubt this is why bloodlust was added. And it still does not address the sad state of upgrading and defending. This is part of why people mindlessly karma train or focus on GvG or just roam and ignore calls for help(unless they want to farm some bags). WvWvW needs major changes.
In our match up (as well as others I’m sure) servers don’t even bother to upgrade or defend SM because they want it to be taken so they can k-train it back.
WvW is nothing but a glorified champ train at this point.

That’s the way SM is supposed to work in an even match up like ours. Every server has enough people to keep flipping camps and killing dolyaks before SM can even get supply therefore you can’t upgrade.(Till today when we had enough time with our night coverage to get supply to it all day.)

I sincerely doubt this is why bloodlust was added. And it still does not address the sad state of upgrading and defending. This is part of why people mindlessly karma train or focus on GvG or just roam and ignore calls for help(unless they want to farm some bags). WvWvW needs major changes.
T1 servers defend anything worth defending. Even if it’s a camp. Karma trains don’t exist in higher tier servers unless there’s a pre-arranged agreement on the last day before reset or something like that

Leagues might have brought in new blood but I can pretty much guarantee they too will be chased away from caring about the score board and probably this mode or game in general once they find out how WvWvW wins really work.
By and large they are only achievement hunters and will be gone once obtaining the achievements. There’s already been some saying so on here.

Doesn’t address the fact that scouts get nothing for watching paint dry. You should have heard our commanders begging for scouts on comms…

“We are hitting bay, will get it back later” – Commander
“We have a t2 hills and I have spent the last hour upgrading and spending my own supply building siege!” – scout
“We are hitting bay, will get it back later, get more rewards” – Commander
This is seriously f’ed up and completely destroys the whole concept of the game mode. These defenders and scouts are getting shafted and that is why a year ago we had 5-6 scouts per keep/tower and now we MIGHT get one dedicated enough to do it!
Stat increase = gear grind.

Scouting should be rewarded much better, but that’s a terrible commander too.

Warning, this is only my opinion. This mode will need constant population rejuvenation, more than any game I’ve played. Why? You create a “persistent” map and slapped a scoreboard on it. Upgrading takes ages and the people who invest hefty sums of gold often feel the need to invest equally hefty amounts of time just so they don’t feel like they wasted their money. Not only that, but someone has to literally sit and do basically nothing, and get nothing in order for structures to strengthen because you’ve made siege and going on the offensive in general so outrageously strong(this not counting the thirty second contested delay) that casual play is out of the question for anyone who cares about performance, look away for ten minutes and it’s gone!
Leagues might have brought in new blood but I can pretty much guarantee they too will be chased away from caring about the score board and probably this mode or game in general once they find out how WvWvW wins really work. Trying to make something so horrendously imbalanced competitive is a bad idea. A game that could have been really fun has been reduced to work and it has gotten worse with this league nonsense because some people have been duped into thinking that the winner is now magically somehow no longer predetermined. The most fun I had was running around with my guildmates and ignoring the bogus idea of PPT. People want to fight other players or simulate war, not play Whack-A- Mole.
That’s your view on the game, not everyones. There are those who are willing to stay up 12+ hours in WvW to command and push their server and there are those who come in to just roam around and have their personal victory. But there are many inbetweens. There is no adverse effects of losing at WvW so the stress is self-inflicted, and for some that’s welcomed and they enjoy that type of feels. I love for my server to win and I’d gladly donate large sums of gold to help support my server (for upgrades and such not transfers, just in case some smart kitten wants to jump in). But I don’t pressure myself into playing WvW 24/7, GW2 is more than just WvW (to some this is all they see and I don’t have anything against that). If I spent 3 gold to upgrade a keep and it drops an hour later, then I just shrug it off, it’s a game of risk. If you are asking for the rewards, then you are playing the wrong game mode and possibly the wrong game.

Did I not open my post saying this is my opinion? Or do you just enjoy making redundant statements? Staying up 12+ hours may be self inflicted stress but the game promotes this and this is the kind of stuff I’m hinting at. It is not healthy.
