WvWvW is end game?
Edit:
If wvwvw is endgame shouldn’t arenanet offer more bonuses to those who play? new skinned gear? more titles?
Yes being level 80 makes it much more enjoyable. And yes they should give us wvw players more stuff.

I have 4 lvl 10 toons and one level 20 toon (thief). I’ve been spending a considerable amount of time on my thief and am loving it so far, I really want to beable to test my abilities in the wvwvw scenario however it seems like all players who max their gear(lvl 80) head there and single out all who have been scaled up to 80 (the weaker players).
It seems to me like to enjoy WvWvW you must infact be 80 to avoid being facepwned,
WvWvW can therefore be a driver to achieve 80 as it can only truly be accessed by max level, which fundamentally means that WvWvW is end-game in gw2?
Considering level 10 is like an hour of gameplay, i think if you were level 80 you would still get facepwned. Spend the time to level up.
Its not only about the gear, but about the knowledge of your class / play style. You can level in WvW, but the unfortunate truth is that you won’t learn your class as well as someone who spends the time outside WvW for two reasons.
1. You are getting owned by zergs, higher levels, or just plain more numbers.
2. You aren’t being progressively challenged like you would be in a PvE environment.
Just my two cents. You can still level WvW if you want.
Anyways, back to the main topic:
WvW can be end-game, but only if you are a serious WvW type of pvper. So I would suggest getting into a serious WvW guild to help facilitate the feeling.
For example, I am in one of those types of guild. On average my guild has 60 members online during peak hours daily, and 30 off peak hours (PST). Over half of those members logged on is always in WvW fighting the good fight for our server. That is why WvW is end-game for me, because I have people to do it with.
Hope this helps to clarify anything for you.

sorry but i will diagree with point 2. as pve can only give you so much like learn to dodge and spamming ability’s mostly given the fact that all the pve content is a pretty predictable ai.
after you learn to dodge gets your skills then you will be able to do so much more but leveling in WvW is harder then leveling in pve content, ofc if you run with a few people then you will be target out and if you run with a zerg you should proberly try to stomp any you see and deal damage with ranged into you get the abiltys you need to stay behind the enemy lines to pike off low hp people tho thats just my oppinion

WvW is endgame just as much as the last zones in PvE is endgame. IE its just something you dont want to do until you’re max level.
WvW is one of the endgames i suppose. Altough endgame isnt a very appropriate name in GW2.
WvW is rather unique in that its the only content that builds community since launch. Dungeons, Fractals, world events, none of these are things that bind a large guild together since its content that is done with 4 other people or even alone.
WvW was the only content that actually can involve the whole guild partaking in it, and working towards a common goal. If you want to play with all your guildies, with a lot of people on teamspeak and just playing together, WvW is pretty much THE place to do it.
And i dont think i have to explain the importance of investment in community. And even tough we now have Guild Events, these are still not quite the same.
And still, WvW gets neglected.
Sometimes I go for a week all in WvW. Endgame? For some it’s the ONLY game.
Before 30 you should go there.
WvW is one form of endgame, meant for the more large scale PvP oriented crowd.
I leveled my Elementalist in WvW from level 2 to level 80. I did travel with my Guild and not solo, though.
Although there’s a lot of overlap, I suppose it will be different things to different people. Personally, I don’t do much PvE, usually only when levelling alts plus daily. I’ve checked out the dungeons, some guild missions, occasionally done the seasonal events but not interested in farming.
WvW is the only sustainable interest for me in GW2 and is the only reason I came to the game in the first place. Originally I wasn’t going to play until some old DAoC/WAR peeps got in touch and pointed out that it looked like someone might just have got 3-way epic combat as close to properly done as any company has in recent years.
There’s things wrong with WvW but overall it pretty much delivers a decent experience.
I don’t tend to WvW on alts much. Bit of fun at times but I prefer fighting at an equal level and I find the lack of abilities and inadequacies of gear rather limit me to following around a clump of players and usually hanging at the back, which isn’t my kind of playstyle at all. Preference and choice I guess

You don’t just have to be 80 – you need to be 80 with exotic armour, weapons and trinkets.
When I levelled my warrior in wvw I got targeted sooooo much as an uplevel player.
Now when I see that green up arrow I just shadow shot onto them and a couple of rotations from my auto attack (from my thief) and they are down.
It is like hazing. I went through it so you must
