Why hasn’t YB had a server with it for wvw since week 2? ANET don’t like YB?

Servers get relinked every 2 months. The next one is mid/ late August. The sudden decline of YB is a sad victim of what happens when a server implodes basically at the start of the 2 month window. :/

They were still in t1 at the time of the last link, they were opened for transfers and players chose to leave than transfer there. Relinks don’t happen for 2 months, so gonna have to ride it out a couple more weeks.

As for server anet doesn’t like.. darkhaven has the claim on that, being dead last in rankings for 3 months now.

YB will do what it always does…throw matches for a few weeks until they are at the bottom of the tiers, then do their blob thing where they send the entire zerg after 1 person for the next few weeks like always.

Sorry, was basing this off of people in Yaks who told me on weeks when Yak’s was doing particularly bad is that they would throw the week so that they didn’t go up in tier…that way they could continue to own the servers below them.

Shoot, DH SF FC and Ebay all due for The Jeffersons treatment. Let CD, YB and SBI fight it out in T4 for 4 months and see how they like it.

In all seriousness, most of the folks currently on YB (during NA at least) are more concerned about having fun and getting decent fights.

Lots of other servers have died and fallen down the ranks and never had the option of links to help them.

YB was open for transfers in t1 and no one wanted to go there, most likely because of the reputation built on YB, or they didn’t bother to actively recruit like say JQ had when they took a tumble.

They have a schedule for the relinks and they’re sticking to it. YB players either wait till the next relink in a few weeks or jump ship if they really want to be back in t1 so badly.

Dh is dead. There are no WvW guilds left aside from semi-to-not active ones. Most people already gave up WvW until the next linking due the constant loopsided match we have been put unto.

Having been on YB since beta I can attest that YB has no “server council” such as other servers have and never has had one. YB is and always has been a loose, anarchic federation of disparate guilds with a large PvE militia that plays when there’s something in it for them and/or when certain charismatic commanders are running. Consequently, while certain individuals, guilds or commanders may have tried to affect results by playing or not playing at certain times, that has had almost no impact on actual results. It has led to the odd commander throwing his toys out of the pram when no-one would do what he wanted them to do though…

Currently we are missing several key community figures for a variety of reasons and things are even more chaotic than usual. It’s pretty good fun! Having been up and down over the four years I am very happy to see the back of T1, into which we were dragged by a bunch of slumming T1 guilds without so much as a by-your-leave (although it’s fair to say most of us went along for the ride willingly enough) T1 was pretty dull the whole time we were in it. T2 was ok for a while but became very stale.

By far the best times were on T3/T4 back when 5 out of 6 teams were evenly matched and you never knew who you were going to play from week to week. I’m hoping that the current T3/T4 ends up something like that. If it does then I’ll be more than happy to stay there for good.

The community has not fallen apart. We did have a few guilds leave YB because of one reason or another. That was a choice they made. All in all, YB is a closer community because of it. We tend to work closer together now.
There has been lots of false rumors going around that DK rage quit, transferred to a different server, died, and so forth. None of these are true. He will return as soon as his internet allows him to.

Speaking as someone from SoS who has fought maguuma and sbi every week for months, this matchup with YB and CD is probably the most fun matchup I’ve been part of in a long time.

I know the guy is hated by a lot in game mainly because of his ability to ppt like a machine, but we need more players like that guy. Not on the level of hours but just dedication and pulling those pugs together and STAYING with his server.

He had been having internet issues for almost 2.5 months now and was online for a very brief amount of time ~10 hours back. Besides PPT’ing and defense, its his ability to instantly rally pugs via shoutouts that is sorely missed but the positive side is that he’ll be fresh after not having played for so long.

Having bad internet though really sucks. It’s one of the more frustrating things of modern life especially given how so many things require online connections.

We left YB just after HoT because we couldn’t transfer returning guild members there. Since the linking thing no reason to return. It is odd fighting against them this week though… wow do they have a lot of Rangers. Oh and they got nothing on SoS siege.

Every server I have fought has diverted a zerg to chase the more annoying. Even BG… you just have to pick at them long enough.

Lower tier servers tend to lack discipline so it is not uncommon for a herd to break off from the tag to try and run down zerg surfers.

They are paired with SoS this week. I am pretty sure YB is the bottom in the relationship.

A lot of guilds left YB for varying reasons, I cant speak for other guilds but for us it was mainly the fights being a T1 server combined with the queues.

So the poor fight quality, there is only so many times you can smash your small group of 7ppl into the 40man BG map Q all on 1 tag. Combined with the inability to switch maps due to queues meant we moved off.

I think some other smaller crews moved on as well. Which overall losing us and another couple of small guilds isnt a big deal for a server the size of YB.

But the alliance packed up and moved taking a lot of people, DK stopped playing and DOC moved recently, these are probably the main contributors to the servers demise. DK could rally the pug zerg, the alliance has big numbers and DOC also has decent numbers.

Am in NSP and we’ve been paired with SoS for several weeks. Up against YB this week, and are…surprised…and their lack of organization. We thought we would be in for it all week. Is odd. From what I am reading in this thread, I see why now. It’s too bad.

Actually YB just started losing after the first pairing, where we got shafted by Anet, then BG took that opportunity to transfer their fathers, mothers, sons, China, and Russia to their pair server, and outnumbered the hell out of every T1 server, that started the decline, (lucky at that point JQ was doing worst than YB and dropped first, but TC coming up with better numbers sealed the deal).
Fairweathers stopped playing, and traitors jumped ship.

I understand , your situation is different, more guilds with 20+ players that were active in YAKS do so. Without giving an explanation in the Forum, now to use the Forum to recruit players and announce Guild events, there was there every week.
In my opinion, the form and situation that happened transfers was . Because all movements happened just when YAKS started losing week. Why did it before while YAKS was on top ? What is the reason for the transfers? what do you call that move? Came to a movement to collect gems to pay the transfer guilds WITH INTEREST OF IF TRANSFERRED BY WILL OWN , was arrecado the gems and was able to transfer 2 guilds, very good by the way, however one of this idea creators did the contrary, in first opportunity given in the foot. How can we call this?

This one is partially true, not everyone, I am still not sure who did it (personally I think it was trolls trying to ruin YB, but can’t prove one way or another). I do know that some people with a lack of self-control tend to get a bit upset when guilds that just moved to the server doesn’t help defend, or just gvg/fight in a battleground when things are being flipped/taken.

YAKS has always been my home has more than one year , I have never seen this, do not say do not have , but I ’ve never seen , even when we have been united with Anvil Rock , never seen anything like this .

And that’s how rumors spread. Are you talking about a guild starting with F? I won’t turn this thread into something its not but whatever misinformation they told, its clearly not true. Hell Kappell is in UL, they xferred to here when SoR was on its way down and they are still here. I can name a few other guilds who runs almost everyday during NA who isn’t on YB from day 1.
