Your total number of "Badges of Honor"
I Have bought a Helmet, a GS, a scepter and shield aswell as full Jewerly.
Idk but it was a kittenload of badges t_t
Driver of Death Days
I would have a set by now methinks but I spend all my badges on siege to slay with, as im normally too poor to buy siege with cash ;P
A little over 2000, if I count the gift of battle + 2 badge exotics I purchased. I’d imagine this would be way over 5000, if all I did was tag in zergs, but that wouldn’t have been very enjoyable.
cant tell, cause i instantly use them to buy siege weapons
If i would have collectet them i might have between 3-5k i guess.

Average time in WvW per day I would guess to be 1 hour (some days I don’t play GW2 at all, other days 6 hours or so). Collected about 200 badges so far, they all go straight to the bank. Have to add, that I often contribute by scouting/building up defense and such, resulting in days with no badges at all.

I spent maybe a week playing WvW hardcore sometime in October. Due to some lag that I just can’t shake off, I only dive in occasionally now. I’m at almost 600 badges.
If I had played hardcore since launch, I’m sure I’d have at least 5k badges by now, if not much more. A day is WvW tends to yield be about 30-50 badges, depending on luck.

Have bought way too much siege to have an accurate number, but a ballpark figure:
1750 in bank, 50 in inventory when I logged last night: 1800
Invader Pants: 370
Full set of Jewelry: 528 + (330 * 2) + (396 * 2) = 1980
~4 Golems = 400
~40 Rams = 240
~5 Catapults = 60
1800 + 370 + 1980 + 400 + 240 + 60 = ~4850, I could have bought more siege that I forgot about though. That’s with around ~25k kills.

Level 46 on my WvW engineer, and I have about 43 badges.
Playing supportive, healing more than dps’ing, running Dolyaks and doing repair runs… it really gets you nothing for your trouble.
I would get way more badges if I would simply take grenades as engineer and spam them in the biggest zerg I can find.
And no: I don’t waste time on champion grubs, spirits or other trees, or jumping puzzles usually. I simply do what must be done, which again offers me less rewards than when I would ignore the fight and go pve funny stuff.
These badges, same as glory in spvp, mostly reward the zerging bursters I’m afraid.
Or those that do the pve stuff in a pvp battle I guess.
Nothing wrong with that as such: it’s there so you’re free to do it.
But I do WvW to help my server in the map, so I don’t…
At this rate I can’t imagine having enough for anything substantial at 80.
Bit disapointed at yet another grinding system that doesn’t reward the type of gameplay it is part of.
lv80 Ele – around 3000 kills – have just short of 400 since release, switching to D/D has netted me more than with staff but at this rate I’ve had to go for kharma/dungeon token p/v/t gear.

A lot. Bought all the jewelry for my warrior and 4 pieces of armor (who I rarely play). Bought some misc siege here and there. Have about 1k or so in bank still. Hoarding them now in anticipation of being able to purchase ascended lvl gear with them, if they use badges to buy.
912 badges for 4652 kills.
80 Elementalist/61 Ranger - 3018 kills, 574 badges, 403 hours
Think it also needs to be said that I am near completing my ’Master of Disaster’ achievement, a vast majority of my time in WvW is spent building siege in keeps/towers for defense.

Mesmer. 598 badges total. 3100~ kills. Which is, in my opinion, completely and utterly ridiculous. I’m in full exotics purchased from the TP. What’s the point of badges again?
Repairing should give you a badge each set ammount.
Escorting Dolyaks should give you a badge each ammount of time you spend next to a Dolyak.
Healing others should give you the occasional loot bag as well.
The only way to get enough badges to make it worth buying something, is by doing jumping puzzles and zerg killing.
It seems all other ways don’t give enough to buy gear with it, which I thought was the idea in the first place.
1900 Kills more or less 450 Badges.
Now that i wrote it i can’t stop laughing.

Save the Bell Choir activity!
About 1600 kills and 320 badges. Not even enough for a pair of exotic-tier pants.
The prices on invaders items are absurd compared to karma items or dungeon tokens. If I’d spent the same amount if time I’ve spent in WvW doing dungeons or zerging karma events I could afford multiple complete exotic sets from those sources.
To be fair, karma and gold in WvW are decent at level 80 but offset by high repair costs, costs for siege and upgrades, and increased travel/wait times.
80 necro, 8k kills, would have been about 1500 badges if i had not spend so much on siege :/ i can not think of a slower way to get into full exotic gear than playing w3.
Camping a keep near you since 2001 !
ive played since launch ..i have gotten no more then 1000 badges …ive actually had like 30 bags for 2 badges..In saying that im sure ive probably left 1000 bags laying around ..seriously like im going hunt for my bag in the thick of war ..Loot systems sorta suxs nuts

I do a lot of jumping puzzles.

Playing a various Stormspire alt – if it’s Stormspire, it’s probably me
Guilds: Elder Prophets [EP], Principality of New Katulus (PiNK)
1100* kills 187 badges.
*escorting dolyaks, running supply, and defending camps don’t reward many kills. (but I do get into many very fun fights so /yay)
Yak Cultist and follower of the Great Golem God
around 2300 kills, I have had an estimated 1500 badges. Used a lot of them early on for siege and now I am just hording them for no apparent reason.
Side note: If you really want badges/time then I suggest the JPs all 4 of them. Once you know the puzzles like the back of your hand you could get around 30+ per day for JP run. Usually takes me about 45 min to knock them all out.
I also seem to get more from keep and tower lords by rolling around flipping with an average sized group (8-12) or players.

I got unemployed just before guild wars launched, still looking but spend a majority of my time in wvw.
16414 Total Kills

~3000 Badges….between gear and gifts and badges in the bank I can only verify 2000, but I’ve bought a ton of seige and upgraded to superior. Lots of jp’s too in the beginning before I found a decent wvw guild.

I never buy anything with badges, and have never done a jump puzzle so the number is pure kills per badge.

I’ve played on 2 accounts (first one me and my wife shared because at the time we had only 1 computer, but she didn’t play WvW at all).
First account I gathered up a little over 2000 badges, and on my own account I’ve gathered up a little over 5000 badges (756 hours played). (bought all my gear with badges: weapons, armor, accessories).
So a grand total of more than 7000 badges.
Roughly 23,000 kills with 4 level 80 toons.

How long 2k badges are? I’m curious. Please, use metric system.
I spent all mine on siege lol, have probably earnt in the region of 1200 at least.
I knew it was going to be a grind, so every day I’d do each jump puzzle (4 in total). I also play this game way too much and hardly do any PvE…. 29% map completion lol. I started WvW about a month after release, but it really just depends on how much you play and how involved you are. On a good day I can get about 150 badges, or on a day where I want a bit of a break and decide to troll the EB jump puzzle, as low as 40 a day.

I think I’ve spent maybe 50-75 badges on siege equipment, so that’s roughly a 20% badge/kill rate.
I’ve done the jump puzzles a couple times, but never got a significant amount of badges out of it.
I get about 1 badge per 10 kills. So every 50 kills, I have gotten about 4-6 badges and 100 kills gets me 8-12 badges.
Yes, that’s an atrociously bad rate. that’s what happens when you play a melee class that needs to keep moving to stay alive, coupled with the utterly absurd decision to drop badges on the ground behind you. I have no idea how many bags I’ve left behind because I had to stay mobile and couldn’t go back to collect them.
The vast majority of my badges come from the jump puzzles. I can grab 10 badges from there in a couple minutes work. 10 badges from WvW could take 100 kills and hours of time.
~2500 kills
~1600 badges
Typical puzzle run is EB once a day with just one character.

Pretty close to 4k kills and only 303 badges as of this morning. I have never run the jp’s and I have never spent any. I have also never looted an exotic from a bag in wvw, though some of my guildies have.
I think Vorpal has it right. The “drop a bag of loot on the ground” idea is absolutely the most idiotic thing ever. I have 5 80’s, 3 of which are geared with karma and dungeon gear, 1 which is geared to the teeth with player made stuff, one still in rares with 2 exotics. It certainly seems that the ratios are all effed up. You figure even one dungeon a day for maybe (generously) 2 hours worth of work equals a 30:1 ratio of badges to time invested. WvW can be anything from 0:1 to 50:1+\-. No rhyme or reason, just RNG.
Out of all my characters, only my guardian is tanky enough to just stand around collecting from bags on the battlefield.
Also, I can’t count the times I’ve been the first guy in to a fight and downed or heavily damaged a bunch of people, been downed myself and then watched as loot bags pipe up around my corpse and I can’t loot them. The battle becomes a stalemate and I can’t get ressed and the bags expire. So frustrating! Even if I run back after waypoint, the bags have expired by the time I can get to them.
Anyway, I could go on for pages with examples of how the system is a mess from the perspective of 5 different classes and small team wvw vs. zerg wvw. Bottom line is the WvW reward system is garbage and it needs an overhaul.

As far as rewards go, WvW is probably the least rewarding activity in the game right now.
You can get geared up orders of magnitude faster doing anything else: dungeons, orr, running around in the open world farming mats and gold, etc.
Putting the loot you get directly into your inventory might not fix this, but it would be a start, and it is a no brainer.
/age 768 hours

/ no idea, 5000 badges?
They need a daily/weekly WvW achievement where doing repairs/construction/escorting/nuking yaks and towers are required for completion. Once done, it gives you 50 or so badges and maybe some karma or a siege weapon.
That way, people are able to contribute as a team, rather than zerging and tagging to get the most badges possible.
I farm gorge for 30 mins a day to get gold, use gold to buy exotics off TP, use badges to buy siege. I’ve found it’s a much more efficient method of gear acquisition than trying to purchase with badges.

Running supply to do repairs is probably one of the most important jobs out there but you get zippo for karma, gold, or badges.
Don’t waste your badges on armor — the karma vendors on Orr give you the same stuff, and karma is much easier to build up than badges for a WvWer.
You can get a full set of power/vit/toughness exotics. Just gotta get different pieces from different karma vendors when the area they sell at is uncontested (in malchor’s leap and cursed shore). Typically the cathedrals and the last area by the zhaitan dungeon entrance.
The only thing they don’t sell is the helm, which you can buy from the WvW badge vendor.
As long as you have 210k karma, you should be good to go, and have your armor set within a day or two, depending on whether u get to the karma vendors while they’re able to sell or not (which is the most annoying part… waiting for an event to be finished so u can buy gear).
5 pieces of gear (everything below the head) and then the invader’s exotic helm.
Save the rest of the badges for the jewelry, which is the real grind-fest. And in fact… I didn’t spend mine. I just purchased power/vit exotic jewelry and am waiting to see what Anet does about allowing WvWers to get access to ascended jewelry thru badges, before I spend mine.
Stormbluff Isle
Toons: Monstadon, Blood and Shadow
Son of a… wish I knew that before I bought gloves and boots with WvW badges. Thanks for the info, though! That’ll help speed my gear switch up a bit.
why would you know how many you have altogether?
That would mean you never spent any of them which is pretty stupid.
24.6k kills
I think I have gotten around 5k badges so far, maybe more.
2 Axes, Longbow, Boots and Helm bought for badges. Gift of Battle, rest all on siege… I use around 40 pieces of siege equipment a day on a good day so that’s a lot.
As far as how many badges.. the only puzzle I ever do is the EB one, but when I decided I wanted my gift of battle I stopped spending badges till I got it, took me 2 days although WvW was very active that week so lots to do.
