Your views on the Feature Pack for WvW?
Where’s the beef? (Old reference). There are some nice things for sure, but substantive? Not sure……
I’ll see when it launches(honestly I’m going to be playing AA with the rest of the guild so might not even log in). If they’re using vanity tags and new siege nonsense to hype it, then it’s probably going to be kitten poor for all the time and silence involved.
I think it is a terrible idea to buff golems even more… what they should’ve done was nerf omega golems and then undo the nerfs with the golem mastery tract. So a full mastery will allow you to play golems as they are played now… without the mastery you have to suffer some nerfs. Omegas are already over buffed and to introduce a ‘trap’-like counter to golem rushes that costs people to purchase and can just as easily disable your siege is tipping the balance of the game in favour of the attacker and making it pointless to upgrade and defend places – aka welcome eotm to wvw.
I think it has been poorly thought out. I also think the rumoured skill changes have not been considered properly either. It leaves the impression that the people making these choices are not really qualified to make them.

Too little. Too late.
Even now, after years of waiting for real change we have received little more than smoke and mirrors. I have watched my server widdle away into near nothingness, and it is not entirely due to transfers. Server transfers only make up a fraction of those that have left FC. The real issue is negligence from a company of developers that do not seem to care, and this(at least for the time-being) has pushed many of them away from this game.
What attention do they offer those that choose to inhabit their “end-game content” on a day to day basis? I feel like a response would go something like this:
“Here, have a pink commander tag and siege disabling grenades. To further this rofl stomping of the WvW community, we’ll even make the most OP raid tactic even more so overpowered. Enjoy your feature pack.

There was no substance/balance for WvW.
Call me when ANet punishes people for running in huge zergs. (Aka, they should have movement restrictions, speed restrictions just like real armies)

It’s kinda obvious when your most dedicated WvW guildmates are testing the beta of another game. Sadly, nothing worthwhile is coming to WvW at the moment and people are looking elsewhere for something new.
Only 2 maps and 1 that has turned into a disaster of a karma train. That isn’t enough, and a few tag colors won’t change the stale matchups or break the repetition.
It’s out, you played it for 2 minutes, what are you thoughts? :P

I have yet to see the siege side of the update in action for a longer period to judge.
Regarding the tag color, i don’t think it does much right now, atleast on my server from what i saw.
I still see the ol’ “everyone to tag”, “don’t be a lone loot bag” zerg/blob propaganda. People got too cosy playing together in big groups… only guild raids and unnoticed roamers break the mold because, ofen i hear things like, “too many tags – too confusing”…

It seems the resident economist tells the forum one thing and his colleagues another story all together.
According to analysts, there’s a huge Asian market available, specifically Korea, and there are things, overall, in this “feature pack” that appear to be carefully aimed at that particular audience. (see: dumbing down of UI, leveling process, etcetera… things some of us warned ANet not to do over a year ago).
“Too confusing” is the key phrase. It’s been proven before in closed door testing with another game, that players in that particular segment will refuse to do anything (staring at a screen without playing) if they don’t understand exactly (led by the hand) what it is they are supposed to do .
I agree with a lot of the sentiments being expressed both in this thread and in other forums that these small changes appear to be too little, too late and that they appear lacking in knowledgeable insight (into the player experience.)
Beyond that, I’m not qualified to say because, like others here, I won’t be logging in to test. ANet has already had constant “2nd chances” for 18 months.

Whats really funny is that commander tag recoloring was supposed to be a quick win.

And this can be appleid to most of the changes from the 1st feature pack onwards, they really have no clue about players needs. And whats bizarre is that these dumbing down changes are being made now so long after launch when they would be getting very few new players.

You forgot golems gaining speed after a wall/gate is destroyed by them for a few seconds. (Which is fun if you’re spec’d for it, due to their slow movement.)

Tried to get a keep, literally the rams for a few hits and were disabled 95% of the time until destroyed. is that supposed to make the game more balanced?
It’s not going to help smaller servers if 1 guy can stay there and disable your siege while his blob of 60 comes to wipe your 15 people group.

Oh God, this made me lol. I was kittened off that the level requirement for Ele earth attunement unlock was increased(to who really knows) but this strangely made me laugh. I pretty much knew the anti siege grenades were a baaaad idea but hey, esports!
-Drops in FPS randomly.
-A lot of damage injected in WvW through a lot of buffs instead nerfing broken classes/builds.
The only real change was the siege disabler. Golem mastery is nice but a golem rush always was a golem rush. Scouting dead bodys and lord chain resing was a concept problem. Commander colors are pve updates. We need guild tags. For the pugs we need only 1 commander and guilds dont want to be visible for the pug.
Ranger pets still useless and the other changes was necessery.

Anti-siege Grenades is fine with some changes, cost should be 5mats (so you can drop 2-4), the area it locks down smaller and say 1500 in range you can place it. when you stand on cliff in Crag/Dawn/Cliffside you should be able to place on in front off gate

It’s just that they have to throw at least one or two bits in for PvE so they dont feel left out.
The changes to rangers has brought the trolls out in droves. First it was the ability to still hit a cloaked target, 4 sec reveal now is 6 secs and the speed increase on LB. Really? If you don’t want ppl to use cloak, take it out of the game. Don’t make it a survivability tool. As for me, this is a game breaker. Time to move on.

They’re annoying not necessarily because of the damage, it’s the range in addition to that and the fact that projectiles can still hit even if technically out of range. A decently timed reflection skill and some retal upkeep will kitten them though. Guardian wall of reflections are going to be mandatory til the Ranger trend blows over in a few weeks when they realize the class is a one trick pony.
Goelms, already OP – not happy about golem mastery
Siege disablers – no good, possibly even WvW breaking
So, that leaves the fact that commander tags are now AB and have different colors to chose from being the best thing we got =\

There’s nothing “feature” about this feature patch. It’s a few things for WvW that they probably put together in a couple of weeks. Witness how it only took two guys a weekend to “fix” the commander tag colors.
It’s clear there is no WvW team. There are people who do a few tweaks for WvW in between Living Story and making new shinies for the gem store. I don’t know who they’ve got to “join guilds” for the tournament but it ain’t the WvW team – cause there isn’t one!
TLDR; It’s pitiful.
