Even though he doesn’t do it well, con does bring up a good point.
I personally didn’t like the orb system because it is just more positive feedback. What is positive feedback, you ask? Wait.. you didn’t ask? Then shut up then, because I’m monologue-ing here.
Positive feedback is the tendency for a game to reward players who are winning in a competition with more and more advantages, making it easier for them to continue to win. WvW already has plenty of this stuff, from the placement of sieges, control of the map, and availability of supply. The orb system made this worse: whomever had the orbs had a statistical advantage that opponents couldn’t break through, and these orbs served only to make the winning side win more.
I don’t have opinions. I only have facts I can’t adequately prove.

I’ve wasted too much time using ’’good’’ ways to bring up good points; people only read the first 5 lines anyways.
The point stands because whatever mechanic they are going to introduce with the buff, it is VERY hard to find a way to do so without favoring the stronger faction (in this game’s case, the faction with more numbers).

Too grandiose for you to grasp with your feeble mind. But really your mind must be incredibly tiny, since it doesn’t take much imagination to know that numbers will once again prevail in the acquisition of said orb buff.
The orb can have non combat buffs like magic find xp karma boosts and it’ll be fine. It is when you give advantages that affect combat where things get unfair.

ArenaNet has comfirmed it will grant roughly the same buffs as the orb did.
Next month they are gonna re-introduced a revised version of culling.
