Zerg Guardian QOL suggestion
This seem to imply that the purpose of the game is to be on the tag.
It is not.
It is a player conceived perception that this is how the game is supposed to be.
It doesnt deserve a QoL change.

If it is your opinion that a zerg guardian should not be on tag. I would like to hear where you think they should be.
That’s easily solved.
All you need to do is click on their icon in the squad/party display. If they’re not within range, then you won’t be able to select them.
Secondly, you can always just keep an eye on their boon bar. Some things are pretty obvious and you should be paying attention anyways. If you notice various boons (stability) are not going off, then you know they’re not of any use.
Barring that, why not just ask?
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

That already exists.

Yeah I’m aware of that. I didn’t want to sound like a kitten but ok here it is. I want to be able to mark the other guard so that I know if they die mid fight. On the longer fights it can be difficult to keep track of if they are alive or dead. Not impossible, just difficult.

Then what we have here is you’re wanting to be a bit of a jerk but want a change to be made because of obscure reasons charading as a QoL improvement. Be true to yourself, be the jerk you are and throw the salt, you’ll be a lot more happy this way.
Also the solution is real simple, be the commanders pocket guardian unless you’re not good enough to stand out that much. That or find yourself a reliable guardian buddy to zerg with.

So it’s just me then who thinks it would be nice to be able to easily tell when the other guard in the party is not on tag/dead. That sucks, I do genuinely think it would increase my quality of life in-game. I’m not salty, I play with a good guild and I’m easily one of the weaker guards. I do think alot about how to play better and what would make things easier.
I’ll just have to get good enough to watch the party icons during the fights. It’s an extra thing to keep an eye on but as I said above: difficult not impossible.
You can always turn the grid option off on the squad UI so it shows you more of a party like load out with just your party. It’s easy to see his health, boons, alive or dead status and keep track of others.
You can also record your fights with shadowplay or whatever Nvidia calls it now or bandicam and play them back to improve your gameplay as well as review how the other guard is playing.
It goes beyond zerging,
There are times when I wish I could call target/mark things for myself and not have them removed by random person calling target on a downed low level he is throwing siege on.

Easy fix, don’t join the squad.

CTRL + T on the other guardian. You can still follow your tag icon as per normal. I am aware this is prone to issues as other party members can sometimes target something else mid-fight but if you’re organised it shouldn’t really be an issue.
Un-check grid view so that you can view your party with all the boons and see visible health bars in the top left corner – you should know when things go south if the other guardian doesn’t have stability/they’re loaded with condis or off tag since you can simply click on their guardian icon in the squad and it will automatically click on them in the open world, where ever they are…
I would suggest to find someone reliable if you’re in an organised guild raid. If it’s PUGs, it doesn’t hurt to just ask/whisper someone if they are willing and capable of being your stab 1 or 2 guard buddy.
I am not dismissing your request for extra markers. Currently, only the tag + lieutenant can place markers.
It would be nice to have some personal icons/markers that only we as the player can see on FRIENDLY allies (mark someone in your party as the heal bot so you know who to run to etc) so as not to interfere with the perks of being tag + lieutenant markers on enemies as that might lead to more un-fun pin snipe. Still kind of undecided if that would even be plausible, but yeah hope that made sense.
