Recently I reached level cap and I decided to do little bit of WvW and to be honest I enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve connected to server teamspeak (which was entirely new experience for me) and it was great. Players are amazing and this whole community is quite great.
But besides the good sides – there was a huge downside when I realized that in zerg fights my poor PC is running 5-7 Frame rates per second.
8 rates MAX!!
I have 4GB of RAM memory, 3 core 3GHz; and Radeon HD 6870

I’ve set all the graphic options to lowest or even NONE and still my PC cant handle it…

Is there any other way to improve the frame rates?
How come Anet made a game that requires quite a beast of a PC to play WvW?
Wasnt there any way to reduce the performance requirements in that area of the game?

It’s not just you kamix, I have this same problem. It gets annoying, and unfortunately there is no real way to solve the problem.

That CPU wouldn’t happen to be an AMD cpu would it?

It is AMD yea – 3 years old CPU…

Im considering about buying new PC with next components
CPU AMD FX-Series X8 8320 3.5GHz which have 8.1 rating score on CPU benchamarket (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html )
8gb DDR3 x2 (2133 MHz)
I will leave my Radeon hd 6870 GP cos that beauty can do it

Now if this wont work GW2 on 30frame rate I will uninstall the game…

Its an investment for me that will cost me nearly 400 euros, and Im buying it just ’cos Im rly kittened of that I cant play properly WvW!

If you’re coming from PvE, time to set those pretty graphic settings lower. Welcome to WvW! There’s a setting for controlling how many models your client will render and of what quality.
