alert bubbles [suggestion]
TS will always beat this so I dont quite see the point.
If you want premade chat bubbles (like yelling “I’m down!” or “Incoming enemies!” with the push of a button) that’s already possible by using third party application. I cant say how to do it though, because that’ll get me infracted. It always does. So figure it out yourself.
well if it was in the game, then more people could do it and you wouldn’t need 3rd part apps or ts to play as a team.
show how many players of the team are playing so that players can see if their number are thinned out somewhere else on the map.

Nah, ts3 is way faster than any typing / clicking cos u basically do it without delay and time spend to find correct commend. Also u wrote “icons” where would they be? At top? At right? It needs a lot of interface changes and will make comm see less so again no point ot implement something like this. And getting back to ts3 every good comm lead with this, cos it is easier, faster and u save a lot of time when u want to speak instead of staying and typing / clicking some “icons”.
oh and have some simple instructions about how to play WvW somewhere in the window pane the lets you choose to play WvW for noobs so that they don’t ask how to play it while they’re in it. something like cap cap-points to get points to win and its a server versus server versus server game-type kind of thing (and about commanders and siege stuff and all that).
ts may be quicker but its more of a hard core player kind of thing really and doesn’t have a wide audience. a few quick and easy important alert signals will do (at least for now). Its wvw, remove any unnecessary pve GUIs and put them there. when quickly and easily selected, it pops up on top of their heads like chat bubbles maybe flashing and alerting to be more noticeable would be good. Maybe some auditory dialog to make it even more attention grabbing. might even be more effective than people trying to scream things on ts.

Emmm…Actually ts3 is used by every top tier WvW player that want to follow commander and win, otherwise he is garbadge and slot holder that don’t support commander and can’t even call where he is downed to banner him up.
Also u have something like those “icons” it is called macro with /say commend. Just set it up and u will have floating message above ur head with “retreat”, “downed here” info, but as i wrote no1 give a kitten about chat and in fights listen to ts3.
Which part of interface is pve like and can be replaced with those “icons”?
Ohh hand did u consider how the battle will look with every players alerting something? Cos I know, u won’t see a single commend cos of a lot of floating stuff at top of players who stay stick to comm and mt. Same goes for backline. In otehr words whole battle will be covered with those alerts and u won’t be able to see enemy :P
I would love to see this added as a commander function. You can’t always get the pugs in TS and some of them are so dense you need to stand in front of them and call them out by name to get their attention. But you would definitely need to keep it only available to whoever is tagged up, we don’t need 20 “incoming” bubbles cluttering the screen every time a roamer passed by.

So if you aren’t a mindless zergling then you should be harassed, trolled, called garbage, and ostracized for being on a map, right? I’m sorry, but I hate that mentality, it’s abusive and ignores the real effect of havoc/roamers, while saying only the zerg matters. Additionally, you are implying that someone can’t run with a commander and support a commander in multiple ways without being on TS. They’ll just have to accept they are ‘garbage’ then huh? But here is a question: Who is more garbage… The mindless zerg sitting at a tower pressing 1 on a gate, or the havoc group harassing an enemy by making them actively defend an objective elsewhere, or the roaming group that is picking off people in Zerg v Zerg ensuring their side wins and/or cutting off reinforcements? There are far more things that go on than this, you’d be surprised at what a small group can accomplish just while they are trying to have fun, find good fights, and do something besides sit on a commander tag and look at a gate.
-
but you are right, everyone that doesn’t sit mindlessly on the commander tag is garbage and contributes NOTHING, right?
-
(please realize, the one line above is sarcasm)
As for the thread, this would just clutter the screen, pointlessly, even if only the commander tags had the ability. People actually following the tag should be noticing the tag is down. If they are in TS then incoming alert message isn’t needed by the commander as they are already saying incoming. It’s those on the outside of the zerg that will be the ones alerting the commander anyways, sometimes via TS, sometimes via in game.

it’s like people spam commander tags in a wvw matches. teammates don’t ever regulate that spamming do they? (sarcasm in both sentences)
a hundred skill effects would clutter the screen, but why do we need them?
Yes the only communication tool that every always needs is TS and it is the only way people can wvw. I see. but don’t be afraid to use bubbles if your other teammates don’t have ts.
oh the upper right corner of the screen has a ton of pve message stuff that clutters the wvw screen.

Look up…It was answer to OP about importance of ts3 and how is this much better than the stuff he suggested… On the other hand u wrote about roamers etc. not supporting server bla bla bla but u missed the place where I wrote that ppl who follow comm should join ts3 not some roamers cos they hae their own party / ts. Once again the whole thing was about importance of ts3 and how is it better than “alert bubbles”.

But you said anyone not in ts3 is garbage and taking up a slot, that is what I took issue with, that whole attitude. You do not ‘need’ to be on TS to know what a zerg is doing, and what actions are needed. It is helpful, but it’s not needed. A commander could actually lead without anyone in TS together at all. At least we are in agreement that the alert bubbles aren’t needed.
If someone wants alert bubbles, the commander can just have this copied prepared to paste, or other ways can be done, to “/say Commander Down”, and by default people around will see a nice chat bubble over the commander, or whatever message you desire to use often and wouldn’t have time to type out.

Yeap, or just set up kboard / mouse macro with /say command and bah, amazing alert bubble.
