We have asked for this alot but with upcoming expansion Anet might be able to do something & throw the WvW community a bone so PLEASE support the post and bump if u can.

WvW gear = gear bought with wvw tokens currently can’t be salvaged. Extractors cost MORE then runes and isn’t worth the cost. Anet PLEASE do atleat one of the following

Allow us to remove runes from gear brought with WvW tokens. JUST the rune. We don’t even want ecto or mithril etc just let us salvage to get the rune back with black lion salvage kit & destroy the item.

OR

Reduce the cost of extractors by 50-70% atleast. right now each extractor to gold ratio is TOO high.

Yeah I’d settle for destroying the gear and getting a spike and rune back. I have so much wvw crap in my bank that I really dont want to throw away because of runes/sigils, but I cant do anything with it. The extractor it useless, it need to cost around 8g for it to be worth it, not 25 or whatever it is.

It still baffles me why this hasn’t been changed.

The funny thing is that this was less of an issue before the transmutation changes came in. Back then, you could swap the rune over to a new item via the transmutation process.

But with the “better” changes, I’ve had to simply toss away numerous exotic-grade items with runes intact because I had the audacity to purchase them from the WvW vendor (which never tells you they aren’t salvageable).

Well, hopefully it’ll come around later than never.

Gear bought with badges should be salvageable without the use of super expensive extractor. Arenanet, please change this.

How about sell us a permanent WvW extractor? Make it only salvage runes and sigils off WvW gear. Most of us don’t have the gold to explore builds as much as we would like since WvW is a giant gold sink. I would definitely pay for an extractor that I could use multiple times.

Off topic but it’s unbelievable, that the devs bow down to PvE players and remove WvW from map completion, yet refuse to allow us to salvage our runes from our WvW gear………

I totally upvote this thread. Wvw armour and weapons SHOULD be salvageable, or at very least, runes and sigils.

That, or lower the ridiculous price of extractors!!

I’d be fine if salvaging destroyed the item and gave me my upgrades back. No need for anything else else like materials. Unless salvaging gave back like 20 badges or something like that. It’s all about getting my upgrades back basically.
