Screenshot doesn’t tell much, but we had control over dome and porting our own teammates up in EB JP. A large enemy group was forming by the water where we were portaling our teammates up, then we see the guy (Anet employee i’m guessing) in my screenshot come up. portal down, I look up, ALL THE WAY UP AT THE CHEST they portal bombed.

Anyways, he fell down along with some others, but pretty much yeah, control lost in seconds when that same server was just controlling it half an hour ago. I really hope it wasn’t a real anet employee.

He/she is on a regular character, just happens to be in the ArenaNet guild (so probably is a real employee). When you represent that guild you get the ArenaNet icon. Nothin suspicious here, just ArenaNet playing their own game (that’s cool, right?).

so normal players can portal from water up to chest in one portal? that’s legit.

not to mention he self ressed and was using a thief skill attacking us (the thief spinny invulnerable thing). We put him down quick. but yeah, mesmer portals and thief skills. Yeah, that sounds like he was playing a legit character.

It was not an A-Net employee he was just there. It was our Mesmer doing that.

I guess Anet employees are getting sick of non-counterable Jump Puzzling camping at the beast arena too.

Nah, that Anet employee was actually playing a Theif, my group was playing with him last night it was pretty cool!

Maybe they used stealth to pass you.

We had several mesmers with us last night and the anet guy was with us.

its actually not hard to get past the arena if you keep the stealth buff , instead of dropping it to pick up a torch for the dark room just dont use one and do the darkroom with your stealth buff. if you have a fiery dragon sword or a halloween backpack they act as a torch so you can still see in there . if you run that without falling your stealth buff will wear off a few seconds after you leave the arena

Look at that… Fort A$#@#wood… camping up the JP yet again.

I recon they kill people in tham there WvW, tell me it ain’t so!

Play Mario if you don’t want others interfering with your jumping.

They play their game too … YAY for game dev companies. It’s what we all do. We get into the industry we are most passionate about and do what we can. Hell I would fully love them to come in and battle it out.

No issue at all. Portals are fine, portal bombs are fun. Jump puzzles in wvw you better expect to get hit, by anyone including anet.

Please come to Darkhavens opponents, we’d love to battle it out in there for our siege prints … or just battle it out …

He was using thief skills because he is a thief.

You have no evidence to support your assertions, at all.

I love being called a hacker due to my skill, tactics and strategy.

It is so entertaining to see campers dumbfounded when they get out foxed.

Given the nature of competitive PvP and how suspicious everyone tends to be about everything their opponents do, I have to question the wisdom of having openly flagged Anet characters participating in WvW.

Not only does it open door to a bunch of distraction from posts like this one, it also creates confusion for players who will assume that these characters are GMs or Admins.

In DAOC, Mythic specifically prohibited employees from telling people in-game that they worked for the company, in an effort to avoid the appearance of any impropriety. CSRs wouldn’t even appear as characters, but were spherical gems so it was always absolutely clear who was and wasn’t a GM. Any employee that had a character on a live server had to earn everything in game just like everyone else because they wouldn’t give out free gold or experience to protect the integrity of the in game world.

Of course, the whole black lion gem system makes GW2 a different beast and I imagine they have to give employees some access to gems.

Is this about the castle icon? Isn’t that the thing you get for completing all the dungeon explore route achievements? Like how the map completion achievement puts a star by your name?

I may be wrong on this, and I apologize if so.

Let the devs have their game time now and then. I’m grateful they’re playing their own game, gives better perspective when they decide to make game-wide changes during their work hours. I’ve seen someone from ANet zerg with TC a few times as well. Also, portal can reach all the way up to near the chest platform from the bottom part, nothing suspicious about that. Kind of a chore to keep doing it from all the way up there, though.

You know Mesmer’s can portal in the EB puzzle right? I and a few other of my guildies do it a lot to bypass the griefers that stalk the dark and gladiator rooms, not to mention it wastes a lot less time than the guild spending hours in there when there is legitimate work to be done in WvW! Find and kill the Mesmer(s) GG!
