another map for top 3 Tiers?
don’t think they can really do this as now those tiers would have a high PPT between them which would inflate scores a mess with the ranking system.
Now maybe they could put in a overflow map of some kind that has no PPT value, just be there for people to have fun while they are in Que for the real maps

Yes, would be ideal to have just another map like overflow were the only thing to do is kill ppl while you wait in queue and not worry about points
A free for all, death-match overflow whilst queueing would be awesome. I know, sPvP is team death match, but just a simple map where people gather whilst queueing would be good.

well to be fair some people were on lower pop servers enjoying themselves with no Que times then had a mas influx of players causing Q times.
And like I said I truly do feel sorry for those people. The players that ditched out I have no sympathy for. You all did it to yourselves and I hope it was worth it because it messed up the other servers as well.
I found it crazy to see servers that I knew were very full recruiting saying oh it’s maybe a 5 min queue, that may have been the case before you attracted 1000s of players. I can only imagine what it will be like now.
There is no way they can add a map just for 3 servers because everyone thought they wanted to be there. They would have to add the map to all the servers and honestly some of the servers do not have the players for 3 maps and adding another would not be in the best interest for everyone.

I see your point. if there was an overflow map for people to just have fun, then there would be no incentive to move to a medium pop server.
So i guess i have to agree with you they will have to make a choice, wait in Que(price of being on a T1 server) or move to a lower tier.
The game is already coverage based. I am on Blackgate and have been on Blackgate since launch. While there may be queues on some of our maps during prime time, they really are 5 minute queues during the week. I think most servers get queues on reset, but a whole other map just because of reset queues isn’t really justifiable. Another map would exacerbate coverage issues more than they already are. We fight tooth and nail to maintain a presence in 4 maps as it is and sometimes we can’t even do that. JQ, to my knowledge, can pretty much field 4 maps easily with queues. If you made a 5th map, it would allow all those JQ players to go there and PvDoor pushing their PPT up even higher while their opponents have no hope of having any presence on a 5th map much less a 4th sometimes. A 5th map would make the population advantage an even larger role than it already is and I don’t think that is ANet’s goal. I’d actually expect to see server mergers eventually to balance populations.
Queues are good for the game, because if it really bothers players or guilds that much, it forces them to move to a server without queues or at least smaller ones in order to balance the population. If people stacked a single server then complain about horrendous queues, they can deal with it. HoD in its prime had horrid queues. If they opened a 5th map, they would have won even harder and their opponents with no answer to their already overwhelming coverage would have been dead to rights. The bad queues caused HoD to fall, but what was bad for that individual server was great for the game.
The idea that I do like, however, is having a objectiveless PvP map while in queue because I hate sPvP, but would like to do some good old deathmatch style play. I worked too hard grinding for Tier 3 cultural armor on a WvW player’s salary to not see that when I play sPvP and instead see that crap armor they start you with (and I think cap and hold is the dullest form of PvP because of the builds it requires).

Well, the “other” map in T1/2 is usually the EB jumping puzzle..
it’d be great of people could log on to that map and NOT take slots of the main map anyway… Also, at times, you have epic fights. Now even WITHOUT siege weapons,…

Sadly by excluding the other tiers and adding a new map you would only encourage more transfers to the top three tiers thus adding to Que times. Anet has always been fair in allowing EVERYONE access to content regardless of where they decide to be. Imagine you not being able to have access to a fresh new kitten map just “because”

I thought I should ask this now that Anet is taking a look at the rating system.
This is a good idea in general.
have maps change based on tier.
becoming more complex or difficult.
fewer waypoints.
so that the higher level maps are less battle ground like and more wvw like.
This might attract lower skilled or less wvw centered players to the lower tier servers where they do not need to work as hard or as coordinated to achieve the same result.
they would not have to be completely different maps but maybe slightly different mechanics. no borderland waypoints without holding the keep closest to the borderland waypoint.

T1 maps are more complex/difficult due to the coverage, numbers and employed strategies derived from that.
