with zerk armor and weapon do I mix in a bit of cele or pvt for survivability? I know its cele for roamer and pvt for backline, but what if I do both? That is, I usually run around in staff with 1-2 peeps roaming party to staff w/ massive zerg. And before you say switch em out, I mean I literally tend to wander between both and let my whim take me where ever. Sometimes its D/D in a small party but usually still staff.

Maybe, mix both cele and pvt?

I am aware of the website and have looked at it. Which is why I know the meta is cele for roam and pvt for backline. Which is why I said that in my post. Pls read.

Go Full berserker

Position yourself properly and you will rarely die an extra 250 toughness will not save you from a 4 man FP Burst

If you want a build that can support, go celestial earth water arcane, or fire water arcane. Then heal, buff, cc zergs etc. If you can adjust properly your damage wont decrease too much.

But you can go full zerker and like previous friend said position yourself properly and support your team by killing enemies. Playstyle differences actually (in daily wvw).

I would run with roaming gear all the time if I were you. I like to play a full cele staff adapted from what I run in spvp.

An ele with roaming gear in a zerg can do just fine. You still can drop the same fields, just do a bit less dmg.

A zerker staff ele roaming is a walking lootbag if focused by any decent player with a good build.

I bring multiple sets of gear on all characters so I can switch builds and gear as needed.

I have multiple sets on my inventory, but for wvw I only use my roaming/dueling set. If I see a zerg is going to fail I just jump ship and go do something else. Doing a little bit extra dmg on a pug zerg won’t save them. So I keep my cele staff setup all time.

I guess it deppends on the player objective. Mine is survive at all cost and be running an effective 1v1, small scale build all the time. Cele staff working for zerging is just a good side effect.
