Please introduce a visible distinction between those two states – maybe just for wvw or if in big groups. Sometimes it is very hard to see if a allied player is in down state or dead. If there are tons of effects, more then just one player down and you are also in fight this is very annoying.

Thanks.

i thought the red arrows over the players that were downed was more then enough… but i guess with culling it might be hard to see

Indeed imo the red arrow thingies both visual in the gaming world and on the minmap are sufficient. With tons of effects I’m still able to identify them unless they all die on top of eachother in which case it’s best to rain some more AoE on em to finish off anyways.

Aren’t they actually half alive? Maybe I’m just an optomist.

I guess it depends on the ppl you are playing with. If they rezz fast you are half alive if they are mental dead you are half dead ^^

I wish most people would just waypoint, repair, and run back. I don’t like the clutter in a fight of a bunch of dead people not doing anything, and it is visually a hassle often to run up to an ally on the ground and start res’ing to find out they’re full dead, I think it fools me a lot because full deads can die in a posture that looks like they’re waving their hand.

Unless everyone packed some instant repair canisters I’d rather have allies get out of the way and repair. More often then not the next stop for our group likely as close if not closer to the nearest waypoint and they can meet you there. I will go to stupid extremes to try and rally downed allies though.

More on point, the whole downed system was clearly created with PVE in mind. I think they realized that the only way to create a game with no healers or tanks was to just include dying and ressing as part of the process. Its clunky and I can’t imagine anyone wouldn’t just prefer tank and healer classes, of course maybe I’m wrong. Either way, it really has no place in WvW or PvP and I’d rather they just got rid of it.

Rift might still have healing trains if that’s what you’re into.

I dont know how deep changes something like this would need, I guess it would not be so easy, but please consider it for the coming updates. It really would make the bigger wvw fight more intense if we could distinct immediately between dead and downed.

hum.. aren’t they already? Downed players are half sitting up with a hand outstretched and moving and their map icon is a blue swirly symbol. Dead players are flat on the ground, motionless and their map icon is a blue skull.

Depends on how close the WP is to the fight. I make it a point to res ppl as soon as I can (even if the fight is going on still) if the WP is far. I believe the advantage is worth it to res them and avoid the time it would take to run back to the fight.

Completely agree if WP is close.

I mean the little white icon over the downed/dead head on your screen. Yes sure they lift the hand and have different icons on the map, but you know, there are so much particle effects, sometime you are far away, the map is zoomed out for wvw and then you mostly still have to fight and keep yourself alive. I just think it would make fight more intense and people would revive more if you can very fast distinct between those two states through these icons over the player, two different colors would already help me a lot.
