I’ve been wondering this for a while, what is Anets favourite EU server? (if they have one) Are they a big fan of Vizunahs zerg tactics, are they more of a fan of ROF’s more casual approach? Or are they somewhere in between (e.g. Millers sound) I know that Anet don’t actually choose the matchups, so as far as I know, the matchups don’t show their opinion about our servers. Do they dissaprove of the zerging or do they approve of it as a part of the game? I can’t be the only person who wonders about this.

They must have a favorite server whose gameplay they consider the “standard” WvW gameplay. Otherwise how could they be so out of touch with how the game is being played overall (on lower tiers, for example).

That would probably be vizunah or desolation as they fit the NA style as the only servers in EU

considering that ever since release, every new patch that ANet released for WvW has strengthened the domination of the ever-growing mindless zerging over small, more organized grouping, its safe to assume that Vizunah are their posterboys

I mean, practically every change they made was almost custom-tailored for Vizunah, and detrimental to its competitors

Every change favoured the coverage + massive blobbing vizu does.

So yea, you can safely assume vizunah is their favourite server by far.
Look at:
1) AC buff
2) Masteries
3) Bloodlust
4) Rams and trebs (especially supply removal, we all know vizu loves trebs)
5) Not here yet, but sure to come: Golems (vizu their favourite tactic)

A lot of AG players seems to think its Vizunah.. Is it becuase youre facing them in wvw now? :P

I vote Vizunah…recently noticed a dev with the title…French liason officer or some such…

in dev video Hugh said, that they support big 100vs100 battles, maybe he wanted to say: We support Vizu 100vs 50or less of another server

Yes, there is a French Community Manager (Stephane Lo Presti) like there is one for DE&SP communities.

Vizunah square for sure NR1 server and instead of balancing stuff against their easy wins, they make it easier for the Titan to win.

So Vizunah all the way (sadly). Or Blackgate for america.

Devon is really on our server (NSP)? Hard to believe considering all the anti-low-tier decisions that have been made recently. I always assumed the devs were out of touch with how low tier WvW is played. Maybe I was wrong, they just simply have no idea what they’re doing.

Vizunah Square and Desolation are the biggest PuG / militia servers of EU and both have a night capping team (rarity in EU), but the similarities ends there. VS has much higher WvWvW player base, more into points and using siege. Desolation has its roots set in spvp/tpvp and most Deso players would actually prefer to have the game without any siege besides flaming rams and lots of big epic fights in the open or in the keeps without the ACs. The lake used to be only siege free zone in WvWvW and now it ends up deleted as well. Desolation does’t have much small roaming teams, but we have several prominent non-thief solo roamers. Some of you might have followed Sir Koroshi’s streams + videos, which are worth watching:

Sadly he got burned out of this game and I can very well understand him. I also solo roaming on Desolation and all the recent changes, the horrible meta have made solo roaming less fruitful. I don’t like the direction this game is heading for.

A long time ago there was a post by a Vizunah player, telling that moaning and complaining will never get anything done, but positive attitude will get the developer’s attention. The post hinted that Arenanet is working in co-operation with some VS players, but I think that post is already deleted a long time ago.

Anycase, if you think about all the changes which have happened in WvWvW this year, especially since March 2013: massive buff to Arrow Carts, real pro night capping patch, overpowered WXP traits, super cheap golem blueprints, even more range and power to Trebs and so on. That all definitely suits Vizunah style. But honestly all the top German servers: (especially) Riverside, Elona Reach and Kodash are heavily into using siege as well. Gandara has been upping this respect as well. 21 ACs in one place (and serious exaggeration of Desolation forces in this otherwise great video):

He said that they support large, organized groups fighting, not just mindless WExp trains. You’re twisting his words a bit.

Get your facts straight and clear your head before you post this crap. Yes we decided that our few leaderless pug group would build some AC for fun, yes we built them inside SM (I seriously can’t believe your ‘omg yu abusez broken mechanics AC shud no b used indoors’ argument), and yes a random pug decided to make a video and put some captions on it. No we did not mean to insult you, no he does not speak for our server, and no we aren’t taking the entire video seriously and to the letter. We don’t do that on a regular basis, we never have, we never will. Don’t take one night’s (barely half an hour) of fun, to be an indicator of ‘omg dey is become blob servuh’, lastly, you are incredibly hypocritical, considering which server you come from.
Whisp me in game and we can have some small scale, if you’re bored come at me, I wouldn’t mind knocking some sense into you.

In what way I am hypocritical? E.g. yesterday evening I was playing at EB and defending Stonemist castle against both Riverside and Gandara. Desolation had zero arrow carts inside Stonemist, while I saw our dear enemy building superior arrow carts just outside the Stonemist castle walls. Surely we blob, but have I ever denied that Desolation doesn’t blob. We are a PuG server and PuG servers blob and have few lone roamers besides that.

The video was good, but:
- you did not have the outnumbered buff on that video
- without any better knowledge it is pure guess work how many players are on the entire EB map (maybe Deso had a total of 50 and Gandara had 30, that is possible, not denying it, but also the opposite could have been true)

You are free to whisper me in game. I am not angry at all. I am curious to know how people are on other servers. But I think I should to get my server some points. We are badly lagging in this current match up (that is our own fault, Deso players farming in pve). I get my fun when I can capture a lot stuff alone or with some random PuGs who just happen to be on the way. You can probably find me in Deso BL, mostly doing supply camps. The lake is soon gone and I am going to enjoy the last moments in the 3 borderland lakes as well.
