hi. just wonder if there is dueling spot, area on wvw? i am in isle of janthir server… i think i am pretty much good player in spvp and also enjoy dueling in dueling arena of spvp. but not sure if there is in wvw?

Is there dueling spot for people of isle of janthir server, or, eotm?

Most people go duel behind the windmill at the south. There’s also good dueling spots in the ruins as it doesn’t impact the real fights much ( no one fights there). Obsidian sanctum arena is commonly used for duels and gvg as well.

OS literally has a dueling arena…………

The arena in Obsidian Sanctum is the “officially sanctioned” spot for duels and GvG. Any players who are there are there basically for the above.

Traditionally, the windmill in the south of the Borderlands maps has also been a place used for dueling/GvG (and still sees use if the arena is currently occupied).

Some common places to find 1v1s:

East side of Stonemist Castle
Sentries on maps like Eternal Battlegrounds
every sentry
the Great Gate on Stonemist for whatever server you’re looking to pick a fight with

If you flip camps in an enemy borderland, Someone is going to come and find you, especially if you leave hints as to where you are or where you are going. Kill every sentry and yak that you set your eyes on in order to get some attention.

Often you can just make laps around stonemist and pick off the weak or the elderly who straggle behind the herd — i mean zerg.

One of my favorite things to do is to kill a sentry and not capture it, so it leaves a big ring up. Someone is going to stand in the circle. then, you kill them. If you get into large scale combat, this trick works with zergs too.

Lurk outside an enemy keep, and keep it contested, that’s another great way to get people to chase you, which can be enormous fun.

If you hang out in the spaces between towers and their respective supply camps, you’ll find people. If they’re both from the same guild, they’re more likely to duel if you /bow at them. Sometimes, this (dueling) is a more effective way to defend your borderland than trying to intercept small guild groups. I’ve engaged havok parties of 5 in duels and kept them engaged for the better part of an hour, during which time they were fighting me, instead of capturing our world’s camps and killing all the bessies.

Obsidian Sanctum is more balanced. You cant have guard stacks in OS, so it eliminates a lot of power creep.

Most importantly, there are times of day when roaming is relatively good, being before the guild rallies start during NA primetime and in the transition period into OCX.

Make a friend in DOLO, and they’ll help you with your mlg skills if you can tolerate them.

Everyone knows of locations to hold duels but what the duelers want is the ability to duel people on the same server as them. Right now if you suggest they add a dueling option to all areas of the game, PvE players who take the game superior seriously FROTH at the mouth in anger at the slightest mention of the option.

So, we’re asking that they add in the ability to duel to the OS arena which is mostly empty. It’s a zone created for GvG that can also be used for dueling.

Obsidian Sanctum is what you’re looking for. Problem is that it’s empty for most of the day. Your best bet is to just party some enemy players and ask if they want to duel. There are impromptu duels happening all the time, especially in NA T3/T4.
