eotm vs df
I quite like the idea, but i dont think it fits gw2 imo. EOTM is a great map but it has been taken over by PVE. I made a post about my suggestions and opinion but it seems that de devs and everybody else dont care anymore.

im curious as to why you think it does not fit gw2 , could you please explain ?
Mid had DF about 75% of the time, Alb maybe 15% abd Tib the other 10%, Same thing would happen here, one dominant realm(server) would have control about 100% of the time considering Anet allows server transfers and DAoC didn’t.

thats not entirely true , although some realms did have control of df at various times during the day and would swap it also opened up the option of more players to play on a good majority of the low populated servers so that balance at the time before the x realming became a issue could be a thing against each side . in gw2 there is a lot of empty servers and lots of guilds that would love more than anything to have something to fight for than what we have now . i see it as a plus because it would encourage a lot of the players who like eotm to join in wvw just so they can get better rewards in a df type dungeon than they would currently . i can see why some would think it might be a problem because of the mega servers like bg , jq , tc would dominate the time currently than a server like darkhaven but that is where server transfers would come in , lots of pver / eotm players would want that dungeon and if they were not getting it than they transfer off the server they are on to a low pop server where they could gain access , transfers to high pop servers is not an option .
First, I would not trust ANet to do DF justice.
Second, given the current economic model of GW2. DF as it was implemented in DAoC does not make sense… there would not be enough incentive. Part of the draw, besides the great fights, was the economic/leveling advantage of owning DF. And the lower Princes were fantastic for farming, the plated hulks, the Princess as part of the loop, the butler, etcetera….
Yes, those could replace the PvE champ loops. ANet would nerf the loot, Legion would probably go the route of Teq (on a timer)…
The armor / weapons / hinging would all go towards MF sharding.
The amount of PvErs that would try to cram in there would be funny. IF and that’s a big IF the rewards and leveling were some of the best in the game. It’s ANet, they would not be.
Would I like to see WvW in a dungeon map? Complete with PvE mobs? You’d hear non-stop complaints that the PvE mobs have no place in WvW.
Could there be a corridor set up like PoC? Sure. But again, you’d hear complaints about PvE mobs.
DF worked because leveling was difficult and the economy of owning it provided a huge incentive. GW2 doesn’t have the need for leveling and ANet nerfs rewards, limits gold farming and promotes the gem store.
Without the context that DAoC provided, all you would have is a map that is a dungeon. Not sure that’s enough of a draw.
