the fact is rev has the strongest range autos in the game right now, kitten they might even have the strong autos period. Massive range, deflect,evade and tbh the #2 skill is strong as kitten aswell

I’m not saying i can’t beat revs in a duel because i can. But they just squirrel out of zergs have a massive distance on you and unless you are a thief or a warrior you cant run. By the time you close the gap the motherkitteners already hit you for at least 7k no matter what build you are, k kittening 10k+ if you are marauder.

Yeah, there are plenty of ways to play a Rev that are fine, but there are also some set ups that seem way over the top. I’m a little skeptical of all of the hammer stuff.

Yeah, getting plowed by 9k Coalescence of Ruin’s on my Guardian with 3.3k armour. Completely broken, so little effort to cast it and mow over everything. However we all should’ve known the new class was going to be OP, rip even further to frontline play.

One instance decided to screen it but I get nailed by these things basically every fight. Nothing you can do xdxdxd

You guys are over exaggerating as usual due to the fact that most of you do not play rev.

To hit that hard the rev has to be glass build as well and have 25 might stacks and crit you. Might + fury can be provided by eitehr other team members or by rev, however, there is a LONG set up and quite a bit of timing involved on the part of the rev here, basically you go into glint, wait for max might from the facet, pop fury, switch legends and let loose 1-2 auto attacks, then you do the unload.

That rev, will be running relatively little self sustain its extremely vulnreable to CC and condis. A rev that is not so vulnreable will not be able to hit you that hard cause of traits and gear.

I like running mixed gear, sometimes more on the defensive / healy side, other times more on the offensive side, and I can tell you when I am about 50/50 I usually do 2-3k, crit on glass opponents for 5k, its when I go full glass and rely on other people to provide boons, cleanses, heals etc. is when I can achieve those kind of numbers. But I do go down a LOT when I run glass.

I play a rev, Tongku, and no, you’re wrong. I run full zerk with cavalier armor, and runes of fury. Basically, I stack as much ferocity as possible. I get bonus precision and direct damage from traits, and I don’t even need to have the aura for fury up, as it stacks duration, so as soon as I enter a fight, I can get rid of it and just keep the might aura up. No need to have swiftness in a fight, so I pop that aura off as well. Now I’m only worried about energy for regen and might. I will have 8/9 stacks of might up, not counting anything from allies.

Yes, I’m sacrificing some power for toughtness, but it’s minimal as far as total dps is concerned, and I still have great survivabliity, as I have a shield on weapon swap.

I have just over 60% CC with 230+ CD. My auto attacks will crit for over 6K.

Now, my ele does similar dps in full zerk with soldier armor. I think people are over-reacting a bit because hammer 2, 3, and 5 can not be spammed as it uses energy. I’d say my reaper does more dps and has better survivablity than either class.

Blackgate Native. It takes tremendous strength and skill to pull a lever.

I mean take it for what it is, just an example of what revs are doing and the damage they’re bringing. What do you consider a real fight? 1v1’s / 15v15’s / PvE? The original discussion is about EBG and blobs I think. Which are the only fights in wvw you can get these days If you mean 1v1’s then I don’t know if hammer is optimal for roaming, don’t think it is, but again that’s not the conversation.

I don’t get how “they have to run glassy” is a justification for this. I don’t mind 11k backstab because thieves have to land it from close range and you can “run” into your blob to escape them.

Coalescence of Ruin has 1200 range, negligible energy cost and 2 second cool down. Oh and it has 5 targets. How is this not broken?

Rev hammer 2 really just needs a longer cooldown so it’s not spammed as often. Wells and most aoe’s you can avoid because you see the big red circles. Coalescence of Ruin is extremely hard to see due to the amount of effects on the ground already. So they sneak in and you really don’t have a chance to dodge during WvW ZvZ fights.

I think the range and damage it does is fine. It just needs a longer cooldown so it’s not spammed as often.

At least hammer are not projectile contrary to rangers and DH….and hammer two is aoe.
Thus they can mindlessly spam without drawbacks.
To summarize:
-highest dammage
-not reflectable
-aoe
-1200 range
-2 sec cooldown
-oops I was about to forget to mention rev can move while using the skill

But clever people will tell you that it is easily avoidable. True shot is the skill that deserve a nerf….just lol.

A-net can i please have my meteorshower hit with 10 k on each meteor. I mean it is my aoe skill that i have to stand still to cast, so why should it hit less then something that a Revenant just casually spam inside of a zerg. Today on my Revenant in side of wvw, my hammer two critted one poor guy with 14 k. And the rest hit with 6-7 k. People are falling like flies in zergs. In the end i switched to my ele because i actually felt like i was abusing a bug, Especially since i can hit people on the other side of a wall.

And person that said yeah but it cost energy and have cd. Yeah it have a 2 sec cd and by then the energy you used are back to full. 2 sec is practically no cd.

The only problem I have with the revenant hammer #2 is that it can hit you twice, and it is not difficult to do once you practiced the positioning. In a zerg fight this happens regularly and hits like a train. This needs to be addressed IMO.

You’re underestimating the potential of the class, seemingly due to the fact that you don’t play WvW in any organized fashion.

No one plays 1 revenant. You stack 3+ together and they’ll have fury/might/regen/swiftness permanently. There’s absolutely no reason for them to leave glint for anything other than hard kiting.
The glint heal is probably one of the single best healing skills in the game for WvW gameplay, blowing Defiant Stance out of the water by not having an activation time. There’s your sustain. And thanks to Riposting Shadows, revenants are not at all vulnerable to CC. This skill also allows them to chain 8+ evades.
There’s very little risk involved in playing glass revenant compared to ele / old wells necro, yet it offers considerably more damage.

For the record, stacking ferocity is usually not a good way to go. You’ll get the biggest crits by having a 15:1 ratio between power and crit damage when fully buffed.

I would prefer if instead of a series of aoes its a cone version of dragons tooth, meaning the ground glows a second before the impact. This solves the double hit bug as it is now a single aoe and it gives a better visual feedback in big fights.

This is very normal in WvW. Coalescence of Ruin can hit for a good 8K+. Unrelenting Assault can also hit for a total of 14K+ against a single target. Then there’s True Shot criting for 10.5K (4 sec CD no energy costs) on Guardian. At least in WvW there’s little need to put yourself in danger trap wise but they still hit for ridiculous numbers.

To be fair, post specialisation update a meteor shower can hit another squishy for up to 7.5K per meteor, Fire auto does around 4K and Lava font similarly does 4K per tick. Ele is hardly struggling on the “cast and win” front.

Predicting where an enemy will be in 5 seconds then being static rooted while casting and then using a 180s cs elite in the hopes you predicted it correctly is quite a difference to what people seem to be complaining about currently.
