So players keep saying toughness to reduce condition damage, i say that is an overkill for one stat. Toughness should work better to mitigate the power damage but conditions should be treated differently, so nobody should go for all bunker and still do crazy damage.

My opinion is to use the mostly useless stat that is healing power to reduce condition damage. 1% for each 100 points.

I also think Might should only increase power, no condition damage. I would give an special buff like GoTL mainly to the engies and in a lesser grade to necros to increase the condi damage so they can have more roles (specially the engi) in wvw.

So the condi damage doesn’t go out of the window with so many buffs everywhere.

Toughness/armor does not reduce the amount of condition damage you take.

the balance to the fact that condis can be cleared to remove their damage after only one tick is the fact that they blow straight thru armor. which is naturally why all the heavy armor classes have the best condi clears while the cloth classes have some just not as much. /s

I’m not sure on the balance here, but I’m not against the Healing Power stat having more versatility in general.

Thanks for replying on my post before, I do think healing power with regen needs a rework of applying the highest heal/tick first over duration, or maybe let it stack in intensity on friendlies, Healing power to negative condition duration would force healing power into builds that would not normally need or use it, would it be useful? Idk. Maybe let negetive condition duration stack regen application?

It’s nice you put that topic forward. I had the very same idea half an hour before you ! !

So, I agree : healing power should reduce condi damage. Still, I won’t endorse negative condi damage.

Engis don’t need any more help- just try facing a good one 1v1 and you’ll see why.

Basing condi reduction on healing power could be interesting, but will need a rework of lots of traits and balances in order to not make ‘power, toughness, healing power’ on a warrior type completely OP and impossible to kill.

Those are cleric prefix, with power being a secondary attribute. Surely that’d prevent the power creep, but a warrior would indeed take a long time to kill !

I’ve always thought vitality would make the best choice for a condition damage reduction stat. That being said healing power needs to be reworked for all classes the way they have for druid/ele ( I think those are the right ones) to help tone-down the sustain that some glass builds have

How about this make healing power or condi duration -% effect tick timers. So the more healing power or condi druation makes the tick timers for a condi longer (the base is ever 1 sec but say x number pushes it to ever 1.5 sec etc..). That or add in a set up timer before it starts to tick that is effected by these combos. Right now condi dmg acts too much like power dmg with out the need for more combo to make it strong and far less counters. Condi dmg should be a dot not burst.

Haha was wondering how audenreil actually had a reasonable idea and was impressed.

Healing power to combat condition dmg,
Change resistance to only grant immunity to conditions negative side effects.

Healingpower already counters conditions indirectly. With 0 healing, regen will neutralize about 1 stack of bleeds. With lots of healingpower and regen it will need at least 3-4 stacks of bleeds, before the health starts actually dropping. The more healing (over time), the more condition dmg (over time) it needs to kill stuff.

LOL, have you ever played any half decent ele or inspiration mes, or a corruption necro (though granted in necro case you transfer instead of cleansing, but effect is the same).

I understand we have new players to the game that might be running around with relatively new teams, but please do not generalize like that.

Incidentally, out of all classes I think druid has easiest to access and most condi cleanses in the game.

Exactly the same way vitality counters both condi and power damage while toughness counter power damage. So we already have a buffer against both condi and power. Its just that most choose to ignore the former because deeeeeeps and then they whine when they are unable to cleanse 2 burning stacks that drop their 11k HP to 0.
