i came from jade quarry. a home where pve events where plentiful. a home with solid pvp.

Why i transferered to SoR:
teamwork on wvw. this isnt your “roam and flex when you find a1v1” This is all about scouting, team effort.

I went from helping a commander, lead the map, following, to helping him escort dolyaks to SM tagless while someone else finishes the pushes.

This would never happen on JQ. ALSO JQ likes it when 1 commander pin;s up only and keeps it to 1. each SoR map had 2-3 commanders leading multiple groups onto multiple objectives.

The amount of teamwork is better. when people say “Stack”.people actually listen and stack vs run in by themselves.

the commanders arent big bosses. they are mentors and coaches. they are players who like to help others and teach. far from a big commander who barks orders at his follwers. they have been in our position, as a follower, grown into commander, but still know whakittens like and how to make best use of the army. they are promoted from WITHIN.
The commanders here are not simply a bobblehead in a suit hired from <random servers>. They come from within with SoR community, having grown up here, witnessed the stregnths and weaknesses.

They have seen what it takes. They will help a fellow teammate. If a commander sees a downed player slightly off path, they will run to res that guy and not just ignore him. If a commander sees trashwork like waiting 4 mins for a camp, he w ill de-pin and wait, and take that camp because thats what the TEAM needs, and not just his commander kitten needs to tower,tower,tower,tower. If theres 30 people at Grub, 20 percent, they will ignore it unless its enemy.

These are observered in less than a day playing not even with the “best” SoR guilds. I cant wait to see my next few days

I’m on JQ and I do see the positive things the OP describes. We do have multiple pins running in 1 map and most everyone plays their part, from WvW guilds to PuGs.

JQ’s community is great. We are the underdogs with the tenacity to stick it out, even against super stacked servers

I have no doubt in my mind that SoR is a great world to WvW on but I think JQ and SoR are a lot more similar than the OP seems to indicate, enough so that I have to question their level of experience on JQ. I would think the difference would be a lot less night and day but more of a comfortably familiar albeit maybe a bit bigger WvW community from JQ’s. I am also fairly certain most of SoR’s leadership does not feel any need to recruit to their server at this point and has been actively steering guilds away from joining them when looking for more balanced WvW competition. SoR is most likely a really fun place to play but they are big enough now and seem to want to see more evenly matched fights at the top. Cheers,

I transferred to SOR from JQ about a week ago as well. They are actually really different. I expected it to be different, but not so much. And it pretty much started right away when I first logged into LA and instead of some random discussion about PvE, players were actually talking quite a lot about WvW. It may not have been the right decision for me though. I wanted a server change and I was tossing up between a low pop server where I can have a bigger effect and see smaller scale fights or going to another top 2 tier server and I went with SOR in the end because it cost the same amount to transfer to SOR as it did to a lower tier server and now this week they reduce the price to transfer to a low tier server ^^

In JQ LA, there’s lots of talk about wvw too. It’s usually initiated by some troll from another server.

I hear the community’s on BG and TC are wonderful, those would be better options.

Don’t let them lie to you. I heard they give a legendary to each new transfer into wvw. And if you can draw a picture of the presidents face using rams in smc they will come to your house and give you a kitten.

Remember, you can only “Stack” when your server is truly stacked. With almost never being “outmanned” and “queues” like crazy, of course it’s easier to PVDoor. Been there, done that… For some people it may always seem to be more fun when you’re always stacked enough to win. So, truth be told… when the server you are on starts going downhill or bored of no competition because you can easily outstacked your opponents, you will start seeing guilds leave, people stops showing up, teamwork becoming quarrels, or organized becoming disorganized, etc… So far this has been the trend of WvW. From the HoD days of 24/7 coverage and domination till this date. Nothing has really changed in WvW. Bigger stacks always beat those that are less stacked.
