how many arena net players
i get the idea that they come out to play in wvw to learn what a certain class needs vs does not need
Come to think of it I’ve only ever seen Anet players in a zerg.
They should roam a bit so that thieves can finally get the nerfstick we deserve.
They play all the time. They just don’t pop up their Anet tag (unless they’re trying to get all the enemy agro).
Blockhead Magee is right, many of us don’t pop our ArenaNet tags when playing. When we do play with it on, it tends to act as a beacon that draws the enemy in like moths to a light bulb.
We are out there, even if you don’t know it.

Pop it more, with pride. We like seeing Anet guys in our zerg, so we can joke and chill with them too.
there was a vid not too long ago of an Anet tag being finished off the edge of a cliff with a battering ram LoL lol that makes me laugh just thinking of it
We had a brave ANet player (thief) tag up a couple of weeks ago. Some naïve player asked him if he got free legendaries for working at ANet. The rest of us standing there with him at the sentry point burst out laughing because we knew better. There were a few commiserating comments about the poor state of his gear (not much time to play and acquire it.)
I can’t imagine how hard it would be to try and play having constant questions / comments thrown at you while trying to WvW / follow map chat / etcetera and you are representing your company at the same time, so anything you say is “on the record”.
Where is that anet blob????
there is what? 300 people working in Arena Net?
Why don’t you all converge on say, underworld EU or Ebay NA and just “Anet blobs” your way to T1 ?
Currently @ some T1 server in EU
We have a guy who I see on JQ very regularly. He/She always gets into TS but they never seem to talk much at all. They generally follow the pin and pretty much play like anyone else. They are on so regularly that no one even seems to notice anymore.
Yep. I wouldn’t care about people hunting me down, but I would for sure care about people whispering me or just /s a lot of questions, demands, complaints…

This is why they don’t use tags :p

That is genius. Anet vs the world.
Retired.
We had/have an upleveled Anet ranger running around on CD for a bit, joined a zerg and we had some lulz. Even grouped with me. I was honored.

Interesting … yet I’ve played against 3 this week alone, running with JQ. I wonder what made them decide this was a good time to display their colours.

I really hope this is true because at the moment most of my experience in WvW are not very fun!
Better question, does Mike O’Brien even play the game? Or is he that guy that barks orders and hides in the office?

I think he retired when they decided to kill the original manifesto.
so the next time you stomp a (anet) player and started laughing and sitting and sleeping on his corpse, enjoy your perma ban
I’ve run with at least two devs (or at least employees) who played wvw often but rarely (if ever) popped the anet tags.

I used to be in a guild with an Anet employee and he said he doesn’t like popping his tag unless it was for work.
What I would like to see is an Anet employee with his/her Anet guild tag up, on the server voice comms, and commanding like the next Sacrx.

I’ve seen two playing for Blackgate that had their Arenanet tags up. One was part of a zerg, another was a roaming thief who attacked me (and killed me) with support from another thief.

Why do you reply into threads like this rather than answering to our more important questions about imbalance, coverage issues, Eotm that is now nothing else but a pve karma train, CDI topic that didn’t seem to bring us anything at all? The list goes on and on.
I’ve never seen any on ET and I’m a pretty heavy WvW’er. They may be there though and I’ve just missed them.
I’d be interested in knowing if any of them do any WvW’ing on the bottom tier servers or if they primarily stick to the higher tiers. I’m not judging, just curious.

Ive read that they are on every server, or close to it. Question is whether they throw up that Anet tag or not.

They are already on it, 4 out of 6 anet devs are seen were on FoW, maybe their 4 man zerg transfers to UW to save the local 10 man zerg
I saw one on AR once, but that was a pretty long time ago now.

Well, been fighting some Anet guys/girls last week and seems you could use some more training to play your own game lol those anet tags were BAD haha

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
I imagine it’s very, very difficult for someone to pop an ANet tag and not draw a crowd. Whether that be enemies or friendlies.

I’ve got a followup. I’ve seen some Anet employees pop their tag in WvW, sPvP, and the landscape. That means, I can see them as long as they are on my server’s side.
Does the Tag show in any way if you’re part of an opposing world while it’s popped?
There are few enough employees that pop their tags in WvW that I’ve never seen it happen. I just want to know how its implemented (Aka, is it possible!)
While I’m on the subject of Anet tags.
I’m also reasonably sure I’ve never seen an Anet employee reping a guild of any kind while their tag is popped. Does it turn off their repping entirely, or just hide that part of the tag? At least, I presume that some are lurking in normal guilds along players, and that you’re not all playing in employee guilds 24/7. It might even be policy that you if you want an account for playing in regular guilds, its got to be unable to toggle the flag (aka, entirely separate from your employee one) I’ve got no idea!
The ArenaNet tag functions the same as a guild tag, because it is one. To fly the tag, we have to rep the ArenaNet guild. So, no, we can’t rep a guild and display the tag at the same time. Anywhere you would normally see somebody’s guild tag, you would see the ArenaNet tag, if an employee is representing the company guild.

Do you always neglect European Servers?
Why don’t you visit us.
Asura thing.
We totally did visit you guys last week (or maybe it was 2 weeks ago).
Have you fought these guys yet? They’re amazingly pro. I challenge ArenaNet devs to beat ’em!

We want PvP Matches, ANet vs The People. Let’s get justice in here, if Devs loose, they must provide a free precursor for every member in-game.

What happens when y’all get more than 500 employees?
Will you be expanding guild sizes for everyone? :]

Even though i always love to pick there minds, this is why i rarely talk to them. I can only imagine what its like to play the game you work on and have questions thrown at you from the 50-100 people on that map. i normally try and let them make first contact.
Ive played since close to the start and have spent up to 8 to 10 hours a day in WvW.
I have never seen a dev in the lower tiers.
Even if they do pop in I doubt they would get a good idea of what it was like because they don’t stay long enough.
I won’t put what changes need making because it is my opinion that it would make no difference whatsoever. Anet does as Anet wants regardless.
It’s true, I’ve hunted down and stomped the couple that I’ve seen, if only to be able to say that I’ve staked a couple.
Probably s/he got stuck after Blink, or Blink failed, or iLeap failed, or iWarden tried to stare you to death, or didn’t reflect the bow, or illusions switched to those mobs instead of attacking you, or the swiftness from Curtain didn’t stack, or your arrows tracked him/er in stealth, or…

I like how the only thread on the WvW forums that an ANet employee has recently responded to has almost nothing to do with WvW itself.
Keep up the good work!
