I’ll agree if they cut the damage amounts that present siege can do to those same gates/walls to about 1/10-1/20th. Siege is already way overpowered.

I’ll agree if they cut the damage amounts that present siege can do to those same gates/walls to about 1/10-1/20th. Siege is already way overpowered.

Siege over powered? That is the point its suppose to be a defining factor. Furthermore, how does it make any sense that wall should be almost instantaneously back up x 10 times in a row. I know its a game but trapping players inside a keep/tower because a wall section was ninja repaired to 1-5% hp goes too far.

Dare I say it but DAOC did not allow insta rebuild.

This is a non-issue. If they are repairing the walls and you have siege up they are just wasting supplies as the wall will just go right back down.

Why at 30%? why not at 10%? why not at 100%? why not at 50%? It seems to me that you pulled this number out of your as-king to do this from your frustration that defenders are blocking your progress through walls.

Just get back on your siege and break the wall or door down again. Walls and doors are supposed to present obstacles for your assault.

Even if all other issues were fixed I think this is a terrible request. A request to add more complexity to a mechanic that is totally manageable does nothing but take up space.

Dare I say that DAoC also had the penalty debuff after death? Wouldn’t this twist peoples panties in to a knot that are already mad about little stuff like insta repaired walls (would love to see the complaints about this debuff if it were in use).

As long as people stay on the cata’s and trebs, a single tick repaired wall will be back down in one or two siege attacks. And if the keep/tower/castle is out of supply then this shouldn’t happen unless the assaulting force is letting people get in to the tower with supply.

As much as I don’t really care whether the walls insta-repair or not, the OP does have a point. We’ve reguarly stood by a wall when a zerg is coming in, let 1/4 of them funnel through the wall gap, wait for the Treb shots to hit the ground, then repaired it back to 0.1%, the wall goes back up instantly and 3/4 of the forces are stuck on the outside. We wipe the 1/4 that are already in the keep and finish them off before the next Treb shot hits bringing the wall down again. The morale that the attacking force loses is huge. Walking into a keep to see so many dead bodies is demoralising.

With that said, I agree that siege equipment doesn’t take long to drop a wall, especially when it’s siege up the top of Garrison that is usually hard to take down, even with Ballistas at the bottom of the cliff. When Trebs are in those sorts of positions I think it’s more than fair to be able to insta-repair the wall because those Trebs effectively make the wall defenses you spent so much on upgrading pretty much useless.
