never had a problem with lag in big fights previously but lately my ping jumps to above 2000+(with 40+fps) and i start getting disco lights on all my skills – terribly frustrating – is anet looking at this problem? – many of my friends are having the same problem and are staying away from wvw for this reason

Good luck with that nothing is going to change. Those of us who have had the lag in forever have just had to deal with it, and it is not getting any better. Besides changing isp/country/using vpn, I think you will still experience some kind of skill lag if what you are experiencing is server side.
Do gw2 maps get hosted on amazonaws servers randomly or something? Noticed this recently – or at least a different ip from the normal [normal being 206.127.159.x/206.127.146.x on EU], and I don’t get the dreaded routing from telia or level3 when I am connected to it.

40+ fps?!? You should feel lucky. Most people during 3-way blob fights in SMC on reset night are lucky to get 15
