love the new map!
The complaints about the complexity are less about getting lost and more about being annoyed by how many cliffs and barricades there are blocking your way and forcing you to go 19 miles out of the way to get around them.
this is not a wvw map, why they even made this as a wvw map, I am not sure. its far too complex and big to be an open would pvp map. the old border lands were far better.
the map it self is beautiful and very creative but thats it. a lot of people come to wvw to fight, not run around aimlessly like in silver waist’s. i ran around for about 30 ,ins, found 1 dude – who wp’ed when he saw me….
People already complained that edge of the mist’s was too big, too complex for anything like wvw but was ignored. now the same with this map. I dunno what anet is even thinking but this was a huge mistake.
already we have lost many people on our server as they said that this new map was the final straw.
rip wvw. hope things recover becauses this new map is silly.
gw1 – healing signet/frenzy/charge
The map is beutiful no doubt about that, but it is not built for wvw game mode. Last night we had a ridiculous situation. We were in the earth keep, and we were there together with another enemie server. None of us owned the keep but we wanted to take it and to fight over it. How ever, this turned out to be a pve event a la teqatl, because the people inside of the circle were you need to be to cap the keep had to avoid the waves the champ was doing. So here we were two big groups jumping for our lifes whilst trying to fight the other group. It could have been a really great fight between the two groups, but instead of focus on that we had to focus on jumping. It was flat out ridiculous. Those sort of things belongs in pve, not in wvw.
I would love for a-net to place such boss on a point on a pvp map, like say in the middle of Cortyard-map, and then watch the reactions. There is no way they would not do such thing because it would effect the fights in pvp, so why on earth do it in wvw, were we also favor fights and do not wish to do pve at all.
RIP WvW… in it’s previous form.
And I say Good Riddance.
If roamers are looking for fights only I guess it will just happen that they all run around the Oasis area.
All we wanted was a GvG.
The map isn’t complex at all, it’s just too big. It takes too long to get from place to place. It takes too long to find any enemies. It takes way too long to even walk back to your group if you die.
It’s so big, it feels like we need another 6 servers on it just to make it feel normal.
