how do enemies message me in WvW?
I thought they didnt want enemies to be able to chat to each other

Open contacts panel and go to blocked part, right click the enemy and choose block, view the name that is added to the list.

They know your account name. There are various ways to discover such… not the least of which is from the forums.

An “enemy” is a competitive construct. We are all in one big community. We often make or have friendships that cross server boundaries.

It is important to understand a distinction. Harassment is forbidden. It is a mistaken notion that all cross-server communication is forbidden. Even if it were, such a ban is unenforceable given the potential for out-of-band communication.

Since release, I have had people (generally other server commanders) on my contact list and I have been known to chat with them… both with friendly ribbing and about more serious issues.

that makes sense but why not just have open public chat to people if you can private message them anyway

all though im pretty sure the experience i had today the person would have been a more harasser if i said much, hard decision to ignore because so busy in WvW or to provoke them so they will expose themselves.
i was playing on an uplevel and they were going to indicate i was a coward for running.

There’s an extremely easy way but most people would use it for abuse which is kind of sad. Emotes are the best way though since it’s like a universal language, plus jumping up and down helps as well. Even better if you do so with a tonic since nobody in their right mind runs up to somebody and will be hostile jumping as a tonic

some times can have a nice chat with the enemy, set up duels, but most the time its just pure abuse, call you noob while ur standing on their corpse then the /dance comes out

I try running in circles around people as a pink quaggan. :P

Commanders can use /supplyinfo. It tells everyone’s name and supply, including enemy’s.

kinda sad how many tonic killers there are. if your gonna fight me get your costume on
