need a reason to keep people playing WvW
Realm Ranks ala DAOC would be a good start.
I agree with a title progression system and vanity crap to go along with it, but giving abilities, stat points etc etc are just asking for snowball mechanics to be implemented to anyone new or can’t play as much doesn’t have a chance.
Quaggan plushies mailed to the house of every participant on the winning server every two weeks.
They have statistics regarding tiers, as evident by ANet’s spreadsheet postings in this forum.
They just need to create a ladder, viewable in-game and website, that shows that information more formally.
However, there is much more than just ladders to keep people playing. Rewards should be better:
command rank and mass dmg area strikes
mobile artillery (tanks) that are operated by more than 1 player.
more rewarding open field fighting, more artillery varieties.
Agreed. Otherwise people will quit when they’re losing, cause WvW is no fun when you’re losing and have no chance of turning it around. Individual incentives are key. Karma and badge gear are abject kitten incentives.
I predict this will be locked soon.. anet seems to be trying to keep anything slightly negative off the forums. I do agree, but i also think a lot of the issue comes from the lopsided wvw system in place. Until that is fixed people will just not bother with wvw. Well save maybe the top 3 servers.
Hey guys, have you ever checked your achievements tab? Ever looked at the WvW section? Ever seen the multitude of titles you can get from WvW? That’s what I thought.
And I thought people already knew about the Invaders exotic sets that you can only get with karma and badges.
And you can only get a necessary item for crafting Legendaries by buying an item that costs 500 badges.
That enough for you?
