Hi everyone,

I’m playing gw2 for about 1 month now and have friends scattered in several servers. I got myself stuck trying to decide which server should I come in when I I found that there is the option of entering a realm as a guest.

So my question is:
what I can and can not do with friends from other servers in matter of wvw?

You can only WvW together if your on the same server

You cannot play WvW with friends from other servers. You will be opponents if your servers matchup. You can still join parties with them if you want to roam around but it would be iffy to fight others as your AoE will hit them. You can whisper them. That’s about it to be honest.

So I can’t be borrowed to a different realm and fight for them, but I can run dungeons with my friends any time. Right?

Yep you have It right.

Your best bet if you are able is to move to the server where most of your friends might be located and try to convince the others to join you, unless the server where most of your friends are is qued all the time, then you may want to go the other way.

If you really want to move and don’t mind the loss, I think you can delete all your characters (bank anything you want to keep) and then move for free. Though if you’ve played for any length of time it’s probably not worth it.

Only confirming, you can do this. Though keep in mind you will want to discard any soul bound items before deleting the character as other characters can’t pull them out of the bank and you will not be able to delete them (the Items).

If you are ingame for about a month, you probably have one toon. Now delete him, and change server to other where your friends are.
Create new character there and you will be happy.

No, it’s not true.
True is: you cannot move them out of bank, if they are soul bound to a different char.
False is: you cannot delete them.
Just, right-click the item while it is in the bank, and choose delete item.

Still you may want to take them out before deleting the owning char, i.e. to sell them to a NPC or to scrap them. Both things that are no longer possible, when the owning char is deleted.
