I really dont like this concept of no updates during WvW Seasons.

many people use to enjoy WvW a lot. But over time, holes in the design have come to surface.

New updates and new enjoyable features are whats makes the game’s lasting appeal greater.

not this restriction on content based on season balancing. Imagine if PvE was built like that. this game would have fail apart.

I come back to WvW, and this game, each time with the hope that something new is added to greatly improve the game.

But with this new concept, I no longer even have that to look forward to now. Servers sometimes are outmanned, and no good fights. thats was the only interesting part was the hope that the game will be improved by Anet. now we have to do more waiting between updates.

I just hope you come off your stance on this.

They already have moved from this stance. Changes were made to WvW in Tower of Nightmares and changes are being made in Fractured

Devon posted a while go, dont expect anything big until the end of Dec 2013, at the earliest!

Basically, if you ask me, it was a shut the F up already post regarding WvW players complaining so much about WvW not getting the attention it needs, as well as – so many bugs, hacks and glitches which still need fixing.

So dont hold your breathe for anything this year, or even the beginning of next. We may continue to get small things, but big changes are still a way away.

Living story updates have nearly as much impact as WvW updates would anyway since they siphon off players.

I am happy that there are no crucial updates for WvW. Would you like to see new masteries introduces or nerfs in some masteries without the possibility to react on it? Would you like to see drastic adjustments to server caps or queues during the season?

Ah yes, because they are just sitting around doing nothing the whole league because they have no scheduled releases…..

The competitiveness part is BS of course. A significant portion of the league results were determined before the season even began.

Disagree on the excuse though. Hopefully they have been spending their time on the changes to OS and the new map. I’m looking forward to seeing both of those.

Including PVE is a change; a mechanism to reduce lag is a change, the instanciation of EB JP is a change…
From what I remember, they indicated no changes to masteries would take place… and if one connects to WvW only to try and have a chance to get a new mastery… I feel sorry for that player… WvW activities are not really made by the devs… the players choose to defend or attack, to play hide-and-seek, or to fight… devs give tools – players use them…

I personally was happy that there would be no changes in masteries for the leagues, though I do wish fully upgraded structures were not like paper because of masteries…

They can also decide to shut down the game completely and start developing Aion 2 if they wanted to.
That doesn’t mean they are doing it.

Just because they don’t want to add major changes during a tournament doesn’t mean they won’t work on stuff.

It is actually quite usual for competitions to have rules and such set in stone during big tournaments in order to stop one said from gaining a sudden advantage due to a certain change.

I personally wish they would change stuff a bunch during seasons so we can get some nice bugs back like no dolyaks to SMC from Blue Side. That was fun! #Sarcasm

No big changes during seasons was a good idea. It let us establish a meta, and play it out throughout seasons. What if they released some content in week 5, when matches are still close, and there is some kind of exploit that one server takes massive advantage of? Well then seasons would be ruined, and there would be even MORE drama.
