Up to a 25 man zerg running around vs 20% magic find 33% exp/karma.

This is a huge problem during off hours and the reason games are so unbalanced.

Remove [outmanned] it should have never of been instituted?

I don’t get your problem. Outmanned is a complete waste of time, it doesn’t give you any advantage for being ‘outmanned’ in Wv3 whatsoever, no stat increases, no extra defence, just PVE based rewards. How is this upsetting server balance?

Means the other two servers you are playing against has a 25 zerg advantage against you during off hours.

Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that a 25 man zerg can take anything and everything without anyone to defend against it, or 25 men short of defending it.

It’s simple math, go back to the basics.

There is no reason for the allowing of outmanned, that in itself spells unbalanced.

MMOS are all about balance and fairness, especially in WvWvW,

It is totally kitten that the servers that are against you can see if you are outmanned.
There is nothing wrong with the outmanned, but with the fact that enemies can see it.

Lmao, I think he’s arguing for removing the ability of the higher populated server to join a map, as opposed to removing the outmanned buff.

What a weird way to go about it, but yeah, the outmanned buff itself is fine. It doesn’t really do anything other than encourage farming mobs I guess if you are underpopulated.

So, if I am reading this right, you would want the server to restrict the allowed number of invaders on any map to match the number of defenders?

Makes no sense to me. How does it restrict between the two invader servers? And if this was implemented then it would be easy to make sure nobody logs onto home BL and only go to other BL and EB. Many flaws if that is what you want.

If they want it to balance they need to make it based on how outnumbered you are and adjust the buffs/bonuses you would get.

Agreed, so revised, I’d like to see the outmanned buff as follows:
-Increased NPC’s per objective based on a ratio of server WvW current map population.
-Decreased NPC respawn time based on a ratio of server WvW current map population.
-Increased defense to walls/gates based on a ratio of server WvW current map population.

I wouldn’t want to see a HP change to the actual invaders/defenders to be honest, because a 1v1 shouldn’t ever change just because somebody is outmanned. IMO if you are outmanned, you should be defending what you already own, which would be supported by the above changes.

Good point, I wasn’t thinking 1v1 when I made the HP suggestion. Maybe add the increased defense to the defending NPCs instead of blanket HP.

Not sure about perma-siege, it should always be able to be destroyed at some point, IMHO. But giving more HP/defense to the siege while outmanned might help. And/or greater range?

Im hoping that one of the devs actually reads this.

Outmanned is the equivalent of having “kick me” plastered on your back. Once the other servers see it its like and open invitation to come take towers since they know that you dont have enough to defend from both sides.

Get rid of it, that extra bit of karma will not bring the extra help needed, the enemy should not be given a advertisement that you are outmanned making you an easy target. So incase Im still not explaining myself, its hurting more than it helps.. get rid of it or at least make it so that other cant see.

(sorry to others for bring this back up, but its becoming more annoying as the weeks go by)

WvW is a no holds barred open season mosh pit of a fight. That goes on for a week. It isn’t meant to be a short term balanced fight. Sometimes you’re outnumber, sometimes you outnumber. You need to learn when to fight and when to run away like a baby quaggan.

Maybe one day ANet will add shorter more balanced fights, like 10 or 20 person battlegrounds. But they need to sort out some of the bugs in WvW first.

Lol reading this guy’s posts is just frustrating me. He doesn’t even have an argument and he’s mindlessly ranting about something that doesn’t effect gameplay. WvW is a game about numbers. I love the football analogy though, that was pretty funny.

But I do agree it shouldn’t be visible to enemies.

I think there’s a bit of a misconception of what Outmanned does. As stated by a few people it offers no offensive bonuses to players. What it does do is give incentive for players that are outnumbered a reason to attempt wvwvw. It’s no fun getting steam rolled because you don’t have the numbers, its even worse when you don’t get loot.
In short this buff helps create server balance even if its hardly noticible.
I do agree with Missy, having other teams being able to see the buff is an open invitation to come take our stuff. Though i think they would notice eventually that they have superior numbers.

Disagree with taking away the ability to be outmanned. It’d make off-peak players from different time zones handicapped. Say your facing a german server, they all go bed by like 1am oftentimes. Now say you’re from farther east, say… China. You have no native server base so you join an EU server. You love WvW. But oh wait, you can’t play it because german server only has 5 people online, and theres already 5 people in wvw from your server.

You can’t stop people playing the game, that’s wrong too.

Uhhh, I am guessing this is your first large scale WvW/RvR type of game. Open world battles are never balanced, nor are they meant to be. I’m not saying the current ranking system doesn’t need work, but you should expect things in WvW to never be balanced. If you want it to be, then perhaps it’s just not for you. Better off finding something else to play than asking for a system to be something it never will be….

OK, when I first read the original post I assumed that it was a facetious attempt at humor … that he was saying something along the lines that ANet was GRANTING one server the right to have more people by assigning the outmanned buff to the other server(s). so, let me get this right..u are mad that there are people outmanning u at night?well, gotta say 25 is nothing.we sometime fielded 10 to 15 people during sea and would get steamrolled by 40+ and yes we do sometimes have the outmanned buff during this time.it is frustrating sometimes but we siege up everything and are usually able to defend it for quite some time.
