Night capping is intended, if you want to succeed in wvw which is hardcore pvp, you gotta field a 24/7 crew or you are not going to best servers that do. You want something casual? go do spvp or just wait until the matchmaking system balances you into matches with servers who like yours don’t have a oceanic player presence.

Siege weapons are not op, They can be killed very easily using superior tactics such as your own siege weapons, mesmer portals, a squad of thieves stealthin in to do some work. Some of you also complain about how you can have infinite sieges up with no consequences, this is not true, there is something called supply which is limited. no supply no siege weapons. Also arrow carts take a small almost unnoticeable amount of damage every time they fire, which serves kinda like an ammo clip.

Ok ok ok, i lied WvW is far from being fine =p There are multiple bugs currently, one is a certain bayside upgraded keepwall only having 10 health that really needs to be fixed, And stuff like arrowcarts being able to kill a castle lord from below his room.

Secondly the queue system is broken. Level 80 players need priority over lower levels.
People that queue in large groups. need a priority over solo queue players.
Why? Because i play on the best wvw server in NA, our dedicated guilds and people cannot get into thekittenmatch. because it is overrun with low level yak escorts who do nothing to contribute to the team except provide amusement while they troll chat, while ignoring key objectives being assaulted.
While this might seem unfair to low levels, it is also unfair to people who are at 80, watching their low level teammates get nearly one shot by people in exotic gear.
But chin! people get scaled up to level 80. while this is true you do not gain access to all skills, traits and higher level gear like in spvp meaning higher levels have a very large advantage.

And my last little annoyance here is how badges are acquired. They are so rare to get that you could end up with only 4-5 for an hours work. yet thanks to rng and a siege you could end up with 10 for 10 minutes of shooting a siege weapon. They need to be a guaranteed drop 2 for a kill, 1 for an assist and siege weapon kills. Also defending or assaulting key objectives could be a way of handing out more of these things. 5 for gold defense or if you capture a tower 5 for gold.

well this is my view on the current state of wvw. love this game anet and hope to see some things improved in the future possibly? also too tired to spellcheck.

WvW has come a long way. There were a number of issues during the BWE but Mike Ferguson and his crew have been diligent and working hard to address the issues.

I was actually worried that WvW would fall on it’s face, but I have to say it’s functioning well imo and while not perfect it’s very robust for what it offers.

I actually want to commend the WvW crew for an amazing experience.

You’re really going to tell people to stop QQing and then go on to QQ? The non 80s and solo players have just as much of a right to be in that match as you. If you don’t like it then you and your guild should come to a lower pop server. We have instant queues at NSP. Hearing the same about a few other servers. You have the means to make this problem go away by not bunching up with the masses on a god mode server. Apparently you prefer easy mode or you did drugs at some point in your life and are incapable of understanding how to use the transfer button. Whichever it is, I don’t feel sorry for you when you have the means at your disposal to make this problem go away.

I agree with Raptor, Just because you’re higher level doesn’t mean you should have higher Priority over the lower levels. And I take it you play on Henge? You can’t tell me you didn’t see this one coming. One of the best WvW servers cause of Titan Alliance, so of course noobs will Join this server just to get carried in WvW, But there’s no way of stopping that. So learn to deal with it.

And we are not the only server that deals with this. And it should be fixed in the way i suggest or as an alternative making wvw more like spvp in the way of everybody getting access to a standard set of gear runes and free reign with talents and traits

Also, i will not deal with people afking in a highly competitive pvp bracket.

Considering this game has very little for highlevels and guilds besides WvW, making them wait in que while lowlevels (that have an amazing amount of content to explore) xp in WvW makes absolutely zero sense.

Ok man you’re Crying Just as much or even more as alot of people. First This game is meant for players to have fun not get kicked out cause they are not high enough level. As for making it like spvp. That is a horrible Idea WvW is meant for you’re PvE character, making it so people have the same gear and what not will just be like spvp but on a larger scale. The only thing I agree with you on is the AFK players, they need to add an auto afk kicker or something.

Henge will continue to have scrubs join it tons at a time til server transfers are cut off.

I agree with both sides. Low levels like me have every incentive to queue up and play; we can get loot and levels while PvPing! But we also have weak builds compared to level 80’s.

The solution? It’s pretty simple, actually. Just add lower-level WvW servers, like WoW’s low-level battlegrounds.

At some point, the WvW server will be switching from 24h resets to 2week resets. When this happens, I propose Anet adds low-level bracket WvW for (2-40) and (41-79). There is definitely a market for it.

These low level servers should only be for levelling, not server rank. As such, I propose leaving them on 24h resets, and hiding the enemies’ server names. I hope Anet listens because I REAAALLY love using PvP to level but it hurts the server when lowbies join.

I never said you are not the only ones. I said that the major alliances and servers with high pop should split up and go elsewhere. It would make the competition better and you would not have long queues. I say again, you guys have created the mess you’re in. ANet is trying to help you with free transfers. If queues are that much of an issue then let ANet help you. If you want to remain behind in god mode servers with long queues, then deal with long queues. You won’t get much sympathy from players like myself.

I wish it were that easy but it is not. Most medium pop servers don’t have enough people in them to fill the maps,. let alone one for high level players and another for low levels. I’m a proponent of dropping the slots available for WvW maps. QQing will ensue but it would force people to join the lower pop servers. Once things were balanced turn free transfers off. If someone wants to join a god mode server with 24 hr coverage after this. charge them $40+ That would do something to combat the leeches. It would also spread out the large guilds and make the field more competitive.

Since several Server is dominating w3, those guilds in that particular server should consider moving to a newer server like kaineng . If your " powerful " and " dedicated " guildies wants a challange, that a good place to go.
Oh, I am low level now, but if I am to be treated differently compared to high Lvls in w3, I would want a refund of my $$.

I would actually enjoy them slotting players to us so we could fill our maps, but I don’t expect them to implement this change to give us more people when we have the technology to police ourselves. The only thing keeping WvW from going much better is people’s reluctance to leave the winning servers. Just think if part of the guilds from JQ, ET, and HoD left to go to other servers. The competition would be so much better and create a healthy WvW scene. It would not matter if a server had non 80s or large organized hardcore WvW guilds because the other two servers would have the same. However, everyone wants to find a scapegoat. In this thread it is the 79 and below guys. On another thread it was guys running solo as opposed to being in a major guild. I see this all the time.

The problem is server populations. We have the means to fix it. Until we as players do something about it expect long queues on high pop servers, and ghost towns on the others.

Oh almost forgot, I’ve seen plenty of non 80s prove very effective in WvW.

Well based on your thread title and and the body of your original post, QQing is people complaining about aspects of WvW such as night capping. I understand that this is something that everyone needs to suck it up on. However you then go on to complain about how 80s need priority over non 80s. That is QQing. It’s an ascpect of the game just like night capping is. This is not burger king where you can have it your way. Deal with it.

Well you’re kind of suggesting that 80s take priority over lower levels. What more can we get from that?

That’s because you’re playing other god mode servers. When you get paired up against “Div 2” servers you run away with the score.

I really dislike this attitude that people that have spent all their time on one character should get some kind of priority. The game is young, we have 5 character slots just to start! Just because some people have reached max level before otheres should not mean they get to block out someone that is working more evenly or playing through the game in a more balanced way. As another poster said, there are L80’s that are not worth a darn and L30’s and lower that are quite effective with what they have.

Also, the poster that suggest that full teams should also get priority? No, no, 1000’s times no. Everyone waits their turn, big guilds and small, single player full teams. Pick up your friends when it is their turn and they get in.

I love WvW and fancy myself a good player. I am only lvl 25. If I was not able to join because higher level players were allowed to enter before me, that is not very fair.

Players under L80 in WvW is fine…stop crying.

Yeah, i dont think the level has a huge impact in WVW – using supply, building siege equip, and helping repair walls is extremely useful – and a level 1 can do that.

Does being level 80 fully decked out help? of course it does. but is it REALLY necessary? no.
