As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.
nine. months. by then, WvW will spiral down even further to where the meta is devolved so much that not a single effort needs to be organized—-because of banners, air strikes, etc. while the reason for the implementation of these clearly broken and overpowered things is just, their use is only seen by guilds that can afford them. these guilds tend to be the most populous and as a result…don’t really need the banners in the first place. all it adds is yet another obstacle to overcome before you can fight back the horde.
imagine if King Theoden had to deal with Uruks plus a dragon banner. That wouldn’t have made for good cinema, now would it?
Well that is because Anet seems to see WvW more as a real-time strategy game which as far as I have played RTS usually the side that can get more resources faster gets access to weapons that give them an edge above their enemies (thus eliminating a balanced fight). So if the trend goes any further we can expect a tactical nuke in the overhaul.. So if any of the devs reads this take note that people still playing this game don’t want to play this like an RTS as if they wanted they would play one. So instead of releasing these overpowered gimmicks remove them please altogether from the game in the overhaul (or better yet in the nearest future) as that is what most people who still like WVW want.
That’s probably 9 months till Beta. We probably won’t see anything until 2017.
Honestly, the only reason I’m hanging around this game any more is for the same reason that people slow down when passing a traffic accident: You don’t really want to look, but you just can’t help yourself…..
That will make it a WvW update 2 years in development. It’s probably going to have 4 new maps and perfect gameplay…

Well-said, Soon. I’m playing BnS now. It’s not as good as WvW used to be, but it’s miles better than Grind Bores 2 post-HoT.
So many good single player games this year. BnS and BDO til CU and Crowfall come out.
You could easily have my 50 euro, EAnet, but not with that attitude.
Already working on it for over 1 year my kitten. They got absolutely nothing to show or talk about.
Does anyone think otherwise? They have had close to three years to fix WvW and have yet to do so. Edge of Mists was supposed to be the sand box / beta play ground to try new things. All it is is a quick place to level, badge, and gear up more or less. In some cases it is actually better than the traditional WvW map due to HoT and the new borderland maps. While nice, they are too large for most servers so they are a ghost town.
In 9 months Camelot Unchained will be out, or should, and any former DaOC player who is still around will instantly move. Those who don’t know about it but like the WvW format of play, well, they will read about it and more than likely check it out.
Poof – there goes what little player base you have left. SpVp can’t hold any player long enough and esport, forget it. Better games. HoT more or less sealed the fate of GW2. 23rd patch or whatever the date is for releases didn’t do much either to fix anything.
Edit: Best thing GW2 has going is that it is F2P. However, I’m willing to bet many others won’t be suckered into buying another expansion pack.
Nothing would surprise me at this point.
This whole ordeal has utterly killed my enthusiasm to log in and play the game. I’ve went from playing 6+ hours a day pre-HoT to 3 or so post HoT to 30 minutes or less this week (some days I don’t even bother logging in, and that means a lot considering how meticulous I was about at least completing my dailies).
I doubt my play time per day will increase until they actually talk to us about this crap, and if it’s true that it’ll be that late in the year, I doubt I’ll bother even putting the effort in to stay interested.
Anet seem to think people will stop playing and then all swarm back when they update the game mode whenever they decide to… I don’t think many that leave will bother even logging in considering how badly this whole thing has been handled.
