sigil of stamina
You probably won’t proc the stamina sigil often unless you’re tagging a lot of players in a zerg fight, or you’re just killing npcs while clearing a camp. I don’t think it’s worthwhile compared to sigil of energy which only needs weapon swap.
I have a sigil of stamina on my reapers axe and a sigil of energy on greatsword.
Thing is meta is made by the guilds for the guilds and guilds tend to fight other guilds, which results in a battle where people just aren’t going down that much.
Other thing is that you can’t turn around a fight using that sigil when compared to sigil of energy.
by open field I mean zerg fights, it is hands down the most powerful sigil in that game mode. there are times when I can dodge roll continuously for 5-10 times. some may argue that its better to learn without stamina, and I don’t disagree, but its such a powerful tool that boosts survivability by miles its just too good to pass up. besides, with hot there is so much more damage being thrown around its even a better choice.
the meta is for guild groups, most people do not run in guild groups and even then not as many are so organized. I would argue that for an organized guild group attacking a zerg, stamina would still be #1, but I wont push that belief.
The problem with the sigil is that it’s only excellent if you’re already destroying the other group. When you’re getting a lot of kills, you don’t need a lot of dodges. On the other hand, when you’re not getting kills you usually need a lot of dodges. So the sigil works great when it’s useless and it doesn’t work at all when you really need it.
sigil of resto/luck and stamina are great for zerging especially if ur a cheap kitten and dont care about the extra benifits of other sigils
energy isnt needed if u know how to position well in the first place
It’s okay for the guardian roll on heal trait in zerg fights (paired with energy sigil). Even if you only get one kill per push.
It’s okay for staff/staff daredevil dodge spam thief too. Something you can do in Eotm zergs for luls as your vault, and dodges do 10,000 to 5,000 damage respectively.

I had on my pve staff on my thief (which does use sigil of stam) and I was blow away when I was able to just non stop bound dmg enemies during pushes when we had the kill momentum. Yea I can vouch, sigil of stamina is legit for zerg gameplay and it really shines for bound/acro staff thief when you got the kill momentum on your side.
Like most snowball sigils that don’t give lingering bonuses, they tend to make easier fights easier.
It’s naturally better against weaker groups who are more likely to lose people; however against weaker groups, you might as well just get a damage sigil such as fire to kill/loot them faster.
In a situation where you actually have to survive, I would suggest something more on demand. There are of course, certain builds that take advantage of a stamina sigil better such as the aforementioned daredevil.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

its true its a very snowbally sigil, but you don’t have to get many kills for it to be effective. even if its only 1 kill per push. in big zerg fights where one tiny mistake on your part (or your commanders) can cost you your life its pretty nice to have extra dodges. no other sigil can compare to getting full stamina every 10 seconds (at the very least), be it offensive or defensive.
Sure, but at the same time said kill(s) would have to occur when you actually need it. (eg. when your stamina isn’t full).
In these critical situations I would argue that I would trust an on-demand sigil such as energy over stamina even if the later gives more over time, because that part of the fight might not even last long enough especially if you’re going to die. If you need to regroup, it’s rather hard to keep the damage flowing.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
The reason I use it on my reaper is to stay topped off rather than trying to spam dodge. This sigil works on pve creatures in wvw as well as guard npc.
its not like you cant have energy and stamina at the same time. I do.

And now you’ve wasted both sigil slots for extra dodges when you could instead just position better and use better sigils…
I use it. Even on small scales. If it works for you, it works for you. Meta is whatever you make of it.
The problem with the sigil is that it’s only excellent if you’re already destroying the other group. When you’re getting a lot of kills, you don’t need a lot of dodges. ^ This… Same is true for all “On-Kill” sigils. Its great when you are already destroying the enemy and almost useless when you’re being pressured.

And now you’ve wasted both sigil slots for extra dodges when you could instead just position better and use better sigils…
I get that, but its not always up to you. sometimes you or your commander makes a bad choice, sometimes the enemy commander makes a good one. like with energy + and stamina, you don’t have to trade off. you can still use all the good positioning you want and come out even farther ahead.
I’m guessing you think that the sigil would be used instead of better positioning. thats a danger. what I’m saying is that there is no other tool besides knowledge of the game that can help you survive blob battles.
Its great when you are already destroying the enemy and almost useless when you’re being pressured.
like I said before, you don’t have to be destroying them. 1 kill a push or every 10 seconds is enough to be a great help. what sounds better to you, full stamina every however many seconds, or +10% healing / +33% boon duration? don’t get me wrong those are great sigils and I use them, but nothing can compete to having your stamina restored when you kill an enemy in a zerg battle. it boosts your own and your entire groups survivability by miles.
