Which is of course not really a fix but rather a band-aid.
They are most likely working on a real fix though.

If people would join a wvw guild rather than blindly following in a blob.
If groups worked on getting better at the game rather than adding numbers when they failed.
Then there would be lots of small 20 man guild running independently of each other and the server lag would all be gone.
If there were a real risk over gaining ratio in game, ppl would start to spread a bit i guess.
As long as you gain same loot and wxp doing things in 5 or 500 the problem won’t get fixed imo.

as azizul said above this problem is easily correctable by ANET by lowering WvW map population for the short term while they are working on long term fixes. I think the long term fixes might require some serious revamping of their hardware and code because it could be buried pretty deep down in how they decided to structure things early on.
The problem is finding a way to lower WvW map caps down far enough to be useful without massively upsetting a big chunk of the playerbase due to queues and the need for server transfers. Ideas on how to deal with that issue are for other threads and there are a ton of them out there. I am pretty sure ANET will not even consider lowering the map population caps down until they get significant feed back from their users making it very clear to them this level of skill lag is not acceptable and is ruining some great battles. If skill lag is negatively affecting your enjoyment of the game make sure ANET knows it! ><
