Why not the top 6 server vs the rest of the server. I’d like to see that happen. But my guess is that the top 6 will most likely win anyway. :P

The upswing to the unbalanced nature of the match is that as long as your server puts up some kind of fight, you’ll probably gain a few ranks.. and no matter how well ER does, they’ll most likely drop a few ranks.
the new matchup system isn’t about winning the match, it’s about performing better than your rating expects you to.
it’s a lot less frustrating than playing for the win.

Because evidently blobs are a phenomenon that can only observed amongst the German servers instead of beeing the primary method to take objectives adopted by all servers.
Or did you mean to suggest that facing French, Spanish or English blobs over and over again is not as boring ?

Yes, that’s exactly what he’s saying. However, ther are exceptions. Dzagonur is a great server to fight with open field guilds like BNF and Hot.
Can it be tiring ? Sure but nationality doesn’t factor into it. The primary factor deciding wether or not there is a blob is the population density of a server. Larger groups are may appear as blunt solutions to a tactical problem you’d prefer to solve chirurgically but realistically speaking the concentration of available forces in a critical area (as in the objectives you want to take/defend and the passages you want to deny to the enemy) is only a natural way of operating on a battlefield. Handling a large group requires skill all of its own especialy when pitted against a similarly sized opponent who can not be simply overrun. In reality there are factors which limit the concentration of forces in a given area but in GW2 there are no such concepts as ammo consumption or the necessity to keep a stockpile of food and winter clothing and it’s unlikely that either will be introduced. Though It would certainly interesting to see how the servers would adjust if they had to keep their combat troops (that is every player operating in the field) in supply instead of only having to spend materials on siege weapons to build them.

ye this guys need to make a better point system and its getting boring then u outmanned ea day long and fsp getting smash ea time from all the blob server that have 200 vs 30 men. and the night capping is just so lame then u stand soloing a blob on 50 men and 6 omega golems. most player on fsp have stop playing wvw and soon we will be on the bottom server if u guys want us to play this then do something about the game

I honestly don’t care about ratings or points, I simply want to play against servers with similar WvW populations. It’s simply not fun engaging in the mechanics of WvW when you’re outnumbered 10-1 almost all the time and it’s similarly unfun when it’s the other way around and you’re forced to PvD in the absence of an enemy presence. My dream matchup right now is against Miller’s Sound and Aurora Glade because I know we have almost identical WvW populations (as our rankings portray) and therefore PvD and steam rolling will be kept to a minimum.
Maybe every three weeks servers of the same tier should face each other, so players like myself who enjoy balanced matchups where success in battle is based on skill instead of overwhelming numbers can have some fun……..
the problem is that not every server has foes that are that closely ‘balanced’ with them.
no matter how you determine the matchups, there will be some that are unbalanced. at least with the new system servers don’t stay stuck in the same unbalanced matchup for months.
