the illusion about ranking
Well it’s obvious that glicko just doesn’t work for WvW. Even if players didn’t game the system glicko would be a joke.
But I doubt ANET will come up with anything better. Especially since they seem to think that people from NA are better than anyone else in the world.

And why would you say that when NA WvW is just as bad as EU WvW atm?

Sad to hear this is going on in NA too..but nothing to do about it.
Im just happy winners dont get a bonus for scamming the ranks…
Then again maybe Anet will apply that too..pfft
Its called wvw seasons. And it will come eventually…. funny thing is .. it will be a complete pve season in wvw and nowhere near s1 or 2
Lol i was in EB when you started this rant about the server cheating.
You had spent the day insulting people and spamming chat (your chat as you called it) then when you got ganked a load of your own server players sat around siege spamming your corpse and refusing to res you. At that point our refusal to kill the gankers started a mega rant about collusion and cheating.
Cheating is a waste of time, winning a MU is irrelevant and completely unimportant, having fun, good, constant fights is what counts.
Somewhat ironic you moaning about the players who just have to win after you bandwagon to a winning server
“winning” in this context implies some gain. There is no “winning” in wvw on a large scale as practically nobody considers the score any measure of a servers success. The rewards also suck outside of PvD farming or blobbing neither of which are “wins”.
At this point WvW is simply an activity with no stakes.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”

ANET apparently intends to make NA player contributions more important than “off hour” players. So to ANET if you don’t play during NA times, you are a lesser human being.
I play NA btw. I just think the idea of making some players less important than others is a bad one.

Would you please link where they said that? Because I really don’t recall the skirmish scoring doing that.

How do you actually think it will work? Who will it benefit? And given the pathetic state of WvW matchmaking ever since the game was launched, what gives you any confidence that ANET is capable of doing any better?
ANET created a system that is easily gamed by the players, the next version will be even worse. The zerg voted for zerg scoring and ANET intends to deliver.
So they actually never said it and you are making assumptions? ok…

Check the vote thread out, they talked about scoring for the zerg. Just as I said.
If you have any facts to prove otherwise, please deliver.
they said at the time scoring by time zone was controversial and hinted would be a last resort type of thing for balancing not a given that scoring changes would include that.

Maybe you should go back and read it too, it would be a potential change if they felt skirmish didn’t do enough, and it would also be put to a poll.

Potential (controversial) additional change:
- While the above change takes steps to bring the value of off-hours coverage in-line, there’s a good chance it’ll still be overvalued. If that’s the case (and we’ll eventually poll on this), then we have plans for an additional system.
- This is the Action Level – Victory Point Multiplier system
* This system would multiply the Victory Points awarded by Skirmishes based on map populations and time of day.
* During prime time hours, the multiplier would always be at it’s maximum of 3.
* During off hours, the multiplier might stay at 3 or drop to 2 or 1, depending on on activity level.
* It’s important to include map populations as a factor, to make the system more fair for off hours players and its important to include time-of-day as a factor to prevent a winning team from trying to keep the score muliplier low by exiting WvW
I don’t think that change needs to be implemented ever, and I don’t think it will be needed anyways and that the skirmish scoring mode will be enough.
If it does come down to them wanting to make the change I feel that would be the last nail in the wvw coffin, as all they would be doing is just completely reversing the runaway scoring situation instead of balancing it. Instead of the off hours running the score up it’ll be the opposite side of players, which NA players will look at it and say yeah why shouldn’t we be scoring more? Because it’s a 24/7 game not a 4/7 game.
Equal scoring standards needs to be maintained in every time zone because of how unbalanced the population is hour to hour, scoring needs to remain as the one constant. I don’t mind handing out “bonus” points, but to sides that are outnumbered not who has the biggest zerg running.

hmmm…my point was ..that very few peoble can tag up on 2 different servers and for for 2v1…all depends how much gamingtime they are doing and how well they play…..ex…2 friends tag up at the same time on two servers…1 is taking the zerg far away for a pretend to attack mission…while the other one goes for sm or what ewa…this happends everyday 1 tag up take the zerg away …and his friend comes in and overtake the sm…happend now 4 times this week…….and screaming and shouting about this “genious” scam…wont help ..most players just follow the tag. its trolling of the worst kind ,,,and nothing to do its a 2vs1 game in like 50% of the time depending how many they are and how much they want to acchieve …
