while I think this was a good idea, the first thing I would’ve done if i was a developer, was increase the amount of players that can be in the maps. I would have done this before even thinking to merge the servers.

i totally understand that, and i do suppose that’s why EOTM is a thing. but you can’t just throw six servers together in a matchup on maps with room only enough for three.

I might normally agree with you, but take into the consideration the following:

  • We don’t know how much of the queues were open prior to merge, ANet might but we don’t.
  • Neither the players or ANet could predict how many people might return if there were more people to fight, and if they will stay. Fights beget fights.
  • Old fashion supply and demand, queues lead to more people wanting to play. Before they could leisurely come and go since there was space, now they either value that time more and go and stay or risk not being able to get back to where they were. People are weird but we are like that.
  • Queue times seem to have been welled received, at least among forum posters which though seemed shocking, it still remains.
  • This has been stated as a test, which can be appreciated since ANet has found small scale tests are not always a good basis for bigger changes, so +1 there.
  • There are a good number of fights right now, and PvP is out of season. This means people that might have been working on PvP ranking are free to find fights elsewhere while they wait for Ranked to be re-openned. WvW has plenty right now.
  • We don’t know how much the other changes are impacting the WvW participation. A lot of people are trying new change out, will that keep people in WvW, will have to see. Now granted reward changes were a largerly requested change so that is at least partially impacting things.

And that’s just a few variable without stopping to think of more before typing. Now, considering those unknowns until they get more stats on how the server is doing with just these variables I can’t fault them for not upping the caps until they can get a few more numbers in. – Good hunting!

We had epic 3-way SM fight yesterday at GH+FoW against DZ and FSP+UW. It lasted over 2 hours I think and only ended because our comm got tired of fighting FSP blob in their chokes and pulled them out from SM into open area so DZ got in and capped the SM.

My point (beside that it was great fight) is that lag was horrible. Half the players comments on chat and TS were about the lag. You cast the skill and it will pop 2 seconds later. Comm says to push, you start to move but whole screen is frozen. It really ruins the fun if you die because of lag.

Yeah 4 years of 3-way lag in SM and now… we still have that lag. Quelle surprise.

Epic ? spamming 1 is epic ? Are you people so dense to keep on going for kittening 3 ways when you people notice its making the server lag for everyone ? It was lagging for 2 hours straight yesterday,but HEY lets keep going for those 3 ways in sm ! Hur dur.
