using free accounts to solve WvW balance.
Spies have allways been in WvW….double accounts…. nothing new about that …
it sux but anet cant do anything about that ….
Spies have a very little to none impact on populated servers.
I actually really like that idea. Some people are kittens and will troll no matter what but this would prevent targeted attacks against servers. +1

I’m surprised this thread isn’t getting more attention. This seems like the best solution proposed so far, plus if the free players find that they really enjoy WvW they will be encouraged to pay for the game so they can stay on one server and join a community.
This also has the added benefit of letting current WvW players that are thinking about moving create a free account so they can check out the other servers for free without constantly creating new accounts and leveling up to 60.
If they end up on the lowest servers and much isn’t going on, will they become a paying customer?
If they end up on the lowest servers and much isn’t going on, will they become a paying customer?
Then they don’t know better- one can do a lot with roaming as well.
And if they think that stuff on “their” server is boring, they still can ask if it’s always like that and decide to get either another free account or sign up for another server if they’re buying the game.
Wvw should be lvl80+
Just the WvW
R3200+

Do you think they would be more likely to become a customer if they joined a T2 server where they are constantly being spawn camped and ticking for less than 100 ppt?
This idea would let them experience WvW across multiple tiers. They would have a different experience every time they logged in.

If they join t1-2 to watch the queue will they become paying customer? And will the other people who are in queue still play the game after waiting forever in queue cause of new player and/or many spie accounts?

If this is implemented it would need to be well visible to players using free accounts, so they are aware they are being tossed about. It would also serve as another good reason to get the full version.
This message could easily be placed in WvW menu since scores aren’t going to matter very much when they change every time to enter a new map.

I admit I read past multiple worlds figuring they would always end up on the low servers. I guess it depends on how they were spread ensuring they don’t get the same server – maybe even a prompt for high or medium.
Either way, they have to choose a world up front anyway and I don’t see anet spending any time on changing that….

They could just include a free server transfer when they upgrade to a payed account. It would be another incentive to give anet money.

Well except game account is what now? $10?
And 1800 gems to a higher server is about …
Also: paid. (SORRY I CAN’T HELP THE COMPULSIVE EDITING! ><)
“Server Pride,” however little that means right now, still has enough meaning that WvW hasn’t fallen into EotM territory. This idea removes the cohesion and community of a server and has a good chance of making WvW into EotM 2.
By the way, if you send players to servers that have guild members, that can easily be abused by having a non-free spy account make a guild.
Still has meaning in EU Sir Kuru

Most players who are creating free accounts won’t know what servers are good or bad. Being moved between server will allow them to get to know each server and pick once they like the community of once they buy the game. If nothing this system would make players have to improve their home servers to stand out to the roaming free players.
Also free players would not have any way to manually join a certain server in WvW. They would instead be at the mercy of the sorting system. While guilds would be a preference, if the server is well populated(not outnumbered) then the system should throw the player to a lower population server. Then again if someone bought an account to taxi free spy accounts into their server then it’s pretty much no difference to what is happening now.
I should also note the guild preference is for if a fellow represented guild member is in wvw, not for a server that the guild operates on. This is mostly because Guilds no longer have differences between servers, and never had a “home” sever setting.
Top tier servers are full free players will join eny server what’s not full and balenciaga wvw like this I do not like they way you are thinking of them as resorses.
Free players should be used to power an endless wave mode.

Then think of it as an opportunity for new players to experience what WvW offers throughout all tiers so they can make an informed decision once they are ready to buy the game. Does that help?
